Representasi Aksi Vandalisme Dalam Video Klip.
ABSTRAK

konsentrasi Communication Training & Consulting , Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi
Universitas Padjadjaran Jatinangor. Judul penelitian yaitu “Representasi Aksi
Vandalisme Dalam Video Klip “Up All Night” Dari Band Blink-182”. Penelitian ini
dibawah bimbingan Drs. Duddy Zein, M.Si sebagai dosen pembimbing utama dan
Drs. Pramono Benyamin, M.Pd sebagai dosen pembimbing pendamping.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi Vandalisme dalam
Video Klip Up All Night dari grup band asal Amerika Blink-182, dilihat dari makna
denotasi dan dari makna konotasi, serta untuk mengetahui representasi Vandalisme
jika dilihat dari mitos yang ada di dalam Video Klip Up All Night. Penelitian ini
menggunakan metode Semiotika dari Roland Barthes. Analisis ini berfokus pada
adegan-adegan yang menampilkan tanda-tanda dominan terhadap tindakan
Vandalisme.
Hasil penelitian ini menemukan tanda denotasi dari Vandalisme yang paling
dominan, yaitu anak kecil yang mencoret-coret Piano yang berada ditengah jalan,
tulisan “NO MORE PARENTS” pada pagar rumah, dan dua kelompok remaja yang
berseteru. Sedangkan dari konotasi, aksi vandalisme yang dilakukan para remaja
dilakukan tidak dalam pengawasan orang tua, dan selalu mencari pengakuan dari
orang lain. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini menemukan mitos berdasarkan analisis tanda
denotasi dan konotasi pada Video Klip Up All Night yaitu aksi vandalisme oleh
bomber yaitu Graffity adalah pencari tembok bersih, para vandal mencari eksistensi,
dan kurang perhatian dari orang tua.

Science, Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor. The title of the research is “Vandalism
Act Representation in “Up All Night” Music Video by Blink-182. This research is
under guidance from Drs. Duddy Zein, M.Si as the main supervisor, and Drs.
Pramono Benyamin, M.Pd as the secondary supervisor.
The aim of this research is to know the representation of Vandalism in Up All
Night Music Video by American Band Blink-182, seen from denotation and
connotation meaning, and also to know the representation of Vandalism myth in the
Music Video. This research is using Roland Barthes’ Semiotics method. The analysis
of Semiotics is focused on scenes that shows dominant signs about Vandalism act.
The result of this research finds the denotation signs from dominant
Vandalism act, little kids doodling on the piano that located in the middle of the
street, “NO MORE PARENTS” writing on the fence, and two group of adolescents
who wants to strike each other. While from the connotation, Vandalism act by
adolescent tend to do by not under their parents supervision, and always try to search
their recognition from others. Furthermore, this research finds myth based on
denotation and connotation signs analysis on the Music Video. The myth are
Vandalism act by a bomber, Graffity is a clean-wall seeker, the Vandals is always
seeking for recognition and acknowledge from others, and Vandals are receiving less
attention from their parents.
