PADA MATA PELAJARAN UTILITAS BANGUNAN
SISWA KELAS XI TGB DI SMK NEGERI 9 GARUT

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil dan motivasi
belajar antara siswa yang pembelajarannya menerapkan metode kooperatif
Talking Chips dengan siswa yang pembelajarannya tanpa menerapkan metode
kooperatif Talking Chips. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada mata pelajaran Utilitas
Bangunan bagi siswa kelas XI Teknik Gambar Bangunan (TGB) di SMK Negeri 9
Garut.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode desain true experimental
dengan jenis posttest only control group design dengan populasi penelitian adalah
siswa kelas XI TGB SMK Negeri 9 Garut. Sedangkan sampel penelitian
berjumlah 40 siswa, yaitu siswa kelas XI TGB 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen
berjumlah 20 siswa dan XI TGB 1 sebagai kelas kontrol berjumlah 20 siswa.
Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi tes dan angket. Data yang diperoleh
dianalisis menggunakan bantuan program SPSS 22.0 for windows.

Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok eksperimen adalah 82, sedangkan
kelompok kontrol 65,25. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis Mann-Whitney diperoleh
Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.01, sehingga Ho ditolak. Nilai rata-rata metode
kooperatif Talking Chips lebih besar 16,75 dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata
hasil belajar pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil belajar metode kooperatif Talking
Chips lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional. Nilai rata-rata
motivasi belajar kelompok eksperimen adalah 137,05, sedangkan kelompok
kontrol 113,55. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis Mann-Whitney diperoleh Asymp.
Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00, sehingga Ho ditolak. Nilai rata-rata motivasi belajar metode
kooperatif Talking Chips lebih besar 23,5 dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata
pembelajaran konvensional. Motivasi belajar metode kooperatif Talking Chips
lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TALKING CHIPS COOPERATIVE

METHOD IN BUILDING UTILITY SUBJECT STUDENTS OF CLASS XI
TGB AT SMK NEGERI 9 GARUT

ABSTRACT
This research aimed to investigate the difference of the learning outcomes and
learning motivation between the students in which Talking Chips cooperative
method was implemented in the learning. This research was conducted in
Building Utility subject for Class XI Building Drawing Technique students at
SMK Negeri 9 Garut.
This research used true experimental design method with the posttest only
control group design. The population of this research were the students of class XI
TGB SMK 9 Garut. Meanwhile, the sample of this research were 40 students, in
which 20 students of class XI TGB 2 as experimental class and 20 students of
class XI TGB 1 as control class. The instrument of this research were tests and
questionnaires. The data analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 program for windows.
The average score of the experimental class learning outcomes was 82,
meanwhile for the control class was 65,25. According to the Mann-Whitney

hypothesis experiment result, Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.01 was obtained. Hence,
Ho was rejected. The average score of Talking Chips cooperative method was
higher 16,75 compared to the average score of the learning outcomes of the
conventional learning. The learning outcomes of Talking Chips cooperative
method was more superior compared to the conventional method. The average
score of the experimental group's learning motivation was 137,05, and the control
group was 113,55. According to the Mann-Whitney hypothesis experiment, it
was obtained that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00, hence Ho was rejected. The
average score of learning motivation of Talking Chips cooperative method was
23,5 higher compared to the average score of the conventional learning. The
learning motivation of the Talking Chips cooperative method was more superior
compared to the conventional method.
