  Key Messages (in slide master)

Training

It is the most vulnerable among the vulnerable that will be

the most affected by climate change – with less area to live, less food to eat, fewer resources to combat the changes, the impacts will be felt more acutely by poorer communities.

The RCRC’s ‘Strategy 2020’ emphasizes both climate change

adaptation (the main focus for humanitarian work) and mitigation.

What is the difference? Adaptation: adjusting and preparing for the impacts of climate change; mitigation: tackling the causes of climate change The Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre: The RCRC Climate Centre was created as a reference centre to provide technical support to the RCRC family on climate-related matters. With a small HQ in the Hague and staff situated around the world, it supports the RCRC Movement to understand and address the humanitarian consequences of climate change, providing a range of expertise including DRR experts, scientists and policy specialists. www.ifrc.org www.ifrc.org Saving lives, changing minds.
