2. The Relationship between Students’ Anxiety and Their English

Descriptive Reading Comprehension Score To see how significance is the relationship between students’ anxiety and their English descriptive reading comprehension, it is calculated through Pearson Product moment formula. Before calculating the data, here are the result of X and Y scores: N = 40 ∑X = 2264 ∑Y = 3085 ∑XY =174755 ∑X 2 = 130428 ∑Y 2 =242325 After the calculation of whole data from X and Y variables, the next step is to insert the data from the table into the Pearson Product moment formula to find the correlation between X and Y variables as follow: ∑ ∑ ∑ √ ∑ ∑ ∑ ∑ √ √ √ √ = 0,045 B. The Analysis of the Data To get the result of the relationship between students’ anxiety score and their English descriptive reading comprehension score, the writer calculated the data through SPSS. 20.
