1. The Objectives of The Research
This study aims to find out:

The relevance between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s answers towards Steve Kroft’s questions.

The implicit meanings occur from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s interview
2. The Method of The Research
Given by the identification and the classification of the data which intricate details about the implicated meaning towards the
interview, the writer applies the qualitative research. Hatch in Qualitative Research Introduction journal states that data analysis
is a systematic search for meaning which it is away to process qualitative data therefore what has been learned can be
communicated to others.

Hence, the writer finds that qualitative research will positively appropriate to the research.
3. The Techniques of Data Analysis
This research will be examined by watching and examining the video, reading the transcription, identifying the utterances,
underlining the words, phrases, clauses and sentences in the

transcriptions, analyzing and interpreting the utterances, marking and indexing the data.
4. The Instrument of The Research
The instruments of this research are video and transcription of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s interview with the help of
World Wide Web and internet to access Youtube page for the video and hufftington post for the transcription. In addition,
various sources for instance, books, journals, and mass media give important role as the instrument to strengthen the data and the
research process.
5. Time and Place of The Research
The researcher will conduct the research in the main library of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta, the
faculty library of Adab and Humani ties Faculty, the researcher’s
room which is found as a fine-quiet place and other places that can support the research. The researcher begins the research in August
2014 and will be finished in September 2014.
