2.5.2.4: Other Revenue Streams

There are a few other categories of particular interest in terms of their contribution to domestic revenues. The major category here is revenue from electricity, which is now being collected the Ministry of Public Works, having formerly been under the autonomous agency EDTL. Using their internal projections shows steady growth in coming years due to the 40 second major power plant in Betano recently coming online and increasing numbers of meters ensuring more of their growing customer base is paying for their power. Rice sales vary from year to year based on Government policy and the size of various subsidized food programs. The sale of local produce and products is based on the Government purchasing and subsequently selling on goods from small farmers to markets. Obviously this category will vary in response to the number of participants in the program and other factors such as climate. Social Games Receipts are based on games of chance, which are forecast to increase in coming years due to the introduction of a new lottery. Finally, the total interest income is forecast to increase modestly, though is subject to changing international financial conditions.

2.5.2.5: Autonomous Agencies

The Autonomous Agencies have independent budgets from their line ministries and are partially funded by their own revenues, as laid out in Table 2.5.2.5.1.
