RINGKASAN

Analisis Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Penumpang Dalam Memilih
Kereta Api Sebagai Moda Transportasi ; Fitria Trisnawati Cahyani,
071910301051; 2011: 119 halaman; Jurusan Teknik Sipil Fakultas teknik
Universitas jember.
Kereta Api merupakan salah satu moda transportasi yang paling banyak
digunakan di Indonesia. Berdasarkan data penumpang per hari tiap tahunnya
jumlah penumpang dari tahun ke tahun mayoritas mengalami kenaikan yang
cukup signifikan, dari data tersebut dapat diketahui kereta api tidak pernah
kehilangan minat para penumpang, itu disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yang
mempengaruhi masyarakat pecinta kereta api untuk menggunakan kereta api
sebagai moda transportasi dibanding dengan moda transportasi lain seperti bus,
travel dan lainnya. Lokasi penelitian mengambil rute Jember / Banyuwangi
menuju arah Surabaya dikarenakan rute antara kereta api, dan transportasi darat
lainnya seperti bus, travel dan lainnya tidak jauh berbeda, sebagian besar jalan
raya yang dilalui bus dan travel serta jalan yang dilalui kereta api sejajar. Untuk
itu timbul pertanyaan mengapa para penumpang harus memilih untuk
menggunakan kereta api dibandingkan transportasi darat lainnya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan analisa faktor sebagai alat ujinya, yang
sebelumnya dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas data untuk memastikan
kevalidan dan reliabilitas data. Pada penelitian ini proses dari analisa faktor itu
sendiri terdiri dari beberapa tahab diantaranya adalah tabulasi data pada data view,
pembentukan matrik korelasi, ekstraksi faktor, rotasi faktor, dan penamaan faktor
yang terbentuk. Output yang dihasilkan adalah KMO and barlett’s test, Anti image
matrices, Total variance explained, Communalities, Component matrix, Rotated
component matrix. Dan menghasilkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dan
faktor yang paling dominan diantaranya adalah pada kereta api kelas ekonomi
faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah kenyamanan pada bebas rokok, kenyamanan
pada kebersihan sarana, dan pelayanan fasilitas kamar kecil dalam KA, pada
faktor ke 2 terdiri dari variabel kenyamanan pada ruang tunggu stasiun, pelayanan

antar dari stasiun ke rumah, dan jumlah petugas keamanan dalam kereta. Pada
faktor ke 3 terdiri dari variabel keamanan dalam KA, dan keamanan dari tindak
kriminal. Pada faktor ke 4 terdiri dari variabel kesesuaian jam keberangkatan, dan
kenyamanan pada jadwal KA. Pada faktor terakhir yaitu faktor ke 5 terdiri dari
variabel kenyamanan pada pedagang asongan dan kenyamanan pada bagasi.
Sedangkan yang menjadi faktor dominan adalah pada faktor 5 yang sudah tersebut
diatas.
Pada kereta api kelas bisnis faktor yang mempengaruhi diantaranya adalah
pada faktor 1 terdiri dari variabel kenyamanan pada kebersihan sarana, dan
kenyamanan pada ruang tunggu stasiun, pada faktor ke 2 terdiri dari kenyamanan pada
bebas rokok, dan pelayanan fasilitas charger hp, pada faktor ke 3 terdiri dari kenyamanan
pada bagasi, peralihan ke moda lain jika tarif naik, dan pelayanan tiket terusan, pada
faktor ke 4 terdiri dari kesesuaian jam keberangkatan, kenyamanan pada pedagang
asongan, dan pelayanan antar dari stasiun ke rumah, kemudian pada faktor ke 5 terdiri
dari variabel jumlah petugas keamanan dalam kereta dan penambahan jumlah petugas
keamanan, pada faktor ke 6 terdiri dari variabel kenyamanan pada jadwal KA, dan
keamanan dalam KA. Dan yang terakhir adalah faktor ke 7 yang terdiri dari variabel
ketepatan waktu jam keberangkatan, pelayanan fasilitas kamar kecil dalam KA, dan
pelayanan media informasi tentang KA. Sedangkan yang menjadi faktor dominan adalah
pada faktor ke 1 yang sudah tersebut diatas.
Pada kelas terakhir yaitu kereta api kelas eksekutif faktor yang mempengaruhi

diantaranya adalah pada faktor 1 terdiri dari variabel kenyamanan pada kebersihan
sarana, kenyamanan pada bagasi, kenyamanan pada ruang tunggu stasiun,
kenyamanan pada jadwal KA, pelayanan fasilitas charger hp, dan pelayanan antar
dari stasiun ke rumah, pada faktor ke 2 terdiri dari variabel keamanan dalam KA,
dan jumlah petugas keamanan dalam kereta, pada faktor ke 3 terdiri dari variabel
kenyamanan pada bebas rokok dan pelayanan media informasi tentang KA dan
yang terakhir pada faktor ke 4 terdiri dari variabel kesesuaian tarif dan daya beli
masyarakat, dan pelayanan fasilitas kamar kecil dalam KA. Sedangkan yang
menjadi faktor dominan adalah pada faktor ke 1 yang sudah tersebut diatas.

Factor Analysis of Affecting the Passenger to Choose the Train

as a

Train is one of the most transportation mode widely used in Indonesia.
Based on data from passengers per day of each year majority the number of
passengers year to year had a significant increase, from this data can be known
train never lost interest in the passengers, it was caused by several factors that
affect the community for train lovers of using the railway as modes of
transportation compared with other modes of transportation such as buses, travel
and more. The location of research taking Jember / Banyuwangi to Surabaya route
because the route between the railway, and other transportation such as buses,
travel and others are not much different, most of the the bus and travel road way
with railway line are in the same line. Because of that emerged some question
why the passengers have to choose and to use train as a transportation mode
compared with the other land transportation.
This study used factor analysis as a tool of the test, which previously had
the validity and reliability of data test, to ensure the validity and reliability of
data. In this study the process of factor analysis itself consists of several step,
including the tabulation of data in the data view, the establishment of a correlation
matrix, factor extraction, factor rotation, and give the factors name. The resulting
output is KMO and barlett's test, Anti-image matrices, total variance explained,
Communalities, Component matrix, and rotated component matrix. And
producing factors that influence and the most dominant factor on the train,
include the factors that affect the economy class is comfort in smoking rooms,
comfort on the cleanliness of facilities, restroom facilities and services in the
railway, the second factor consists of a variable comfort station waiting room, the
service delivery from the station to the house, and the number of security guards
in the train. On the third factor consists of variables in the railway safety, and

security from crime. On the fourth factor consists of variable suitability hours of
departure, and comfort on railway schedules. In the last factor is a factor number 5
consists of a variable on hawkers convenience and comfort in the trunk. While the
dominant factor is the factor number 5 that have been mentioned above.
In the railway business class factors that affect them is the factor number 1
consists of a variable means comfort in cleanliness, and comfort at the station
waiting room, on the second factor consisted of comfort in smoking rooms, and
service facilities phone charger, on the third factor consisted of comfort in the
trunk, switching to other modes if the rates go up, and service tickets, on the
fourth factor consisted of the suitability of the hour of departure, the convenience
of the street peddlers, and service delivery from the station to the house, then on
to the fifth factor consists of a variable number of security guards in the train and
the additional number of security officers, the factors number 6 consist of a
variable comfort on railway schedules, and security in the train. And the latter is a
factor number 7 which consists of a variable hours of departure punctuality,
service restroom facilities in the railway, and media information about train
services. While the dominant factor is the factor to 1 that has been mentioned
above.
In the last class of the executive class train factors affecting them are on
the first factor consists of variables means comfort in cleanliness, comfort in the
trunk, at the station waiting room comfort, comfort on trains schedule, phone
charger service facilities, and service delivery from the station to home, on the
second factor consists of variables in the railway safety, and the number of
security guards in the train, on the third factor consists of variables in the comfort
of non smoking rooms and media services and information about the last train on
the number 4 factors consisting of variable compliance rates and purchasing
power, restroom facilities and services in the railway. While the dominant factor
is the factor number 1 that has been mentioned above.
