ABSTRAKSI
Kerentanan Singapura sebagai Small State membuatnya melakukan inovasi di bidang
ekonomi untuk mempertahankan eksistensinya di dunia internasional. Usaha Singapura
berhasil dan menjadi salah satu Negara dengan Industri maju. Usahanya tersebut didukung
oleh keaktifannya menjadi angota organisasi kawasan ASEAN. Liberalisasi perdagangan
yang terjadi dewasa ini mengakibatkan persaingan yang ketat antar Negara-negara di dunia,
hal tersebut berdampak negatif pada aspek-aspek sosial Singapura. Sebagai aktor
merkantilisme transnasional, Singapura berkepentingan untuk melindungi aspek-aspek
sosialnya dari pengaruh perdagangan bebas. Agar dapat bekerja efektif, maka Singapura
mengajak Negara-negara sekawasan untuk bergabung dalam ASEAN Economic Community
(AEC) yang dicetuskannya. AEC berfungsi untuk mengharmonisasi penyesuaian aturanaturan domestik Singapura yang akan diterapkan pada Negara-negara anggota. Dengan
demikian AEC diharapkan dapat menanggulangi masalah-masalah sosial yang terkena
dampak dari pengaruh liberalisasi.
ABSTRACT
The vulnerability of Singapore as a Small State makes it is doing innovation in it’s economic
in order to maintain the existence internationally. This effort bring a successness to Singapore
so then this country could become one of New Industrialization State. Meanwhie, supported
by the status as the member of ASEAN and the liberalisation of Commerce which happened
nowadays, the tight emulation between states in world became tight and indirectly this thing
bring negativity affects at Singapore social aspects. As actor of transnational merkantilism,
Singapore have interest to protect its social aspects from free trade influence. To can work
effective, hence Singapore invites states in regional area to join in ASEAN Economic
Community ( AEC). Essentially, AEC has functions to create harmonization for the
adjustment of domestic orders of Singapore that will be applied at member states. Thereby
AEC is expected to be able to overcome social problems hit by impact of liberalisation
influence.
