Energi adalah isu global yang saat ini menjadi perhatian dunia untuk dikembangkan.
Pemanfaatan sumber daya alam takterbarukan sudah mulai ditinggalkan. Cadangan bahan bakar
dari fosil ini sudah mulai menipis. Kelangkaan bahan bakar minyak (BBM) yang terjadi sekarang
ini, membuat kita makin sering menengok kemungkinan sumber energi baru. Salah satunya
merupakan alternatif bahan bakar yang dihasilkan dari berbagai produk biologi, yang banyak
dikenal dengan nama bio fuel. Bio fuel sudah banyak dikembangkan di dunia diantaranya ialah
bio ethanol.
Bio ethanol merupakan bahan bakar nabati yang dihasilkan dari berbagai macam tanaman
diantaranya ubi kayu. Ubi kayu berpotensi dikembangkan dilahan kritis dengan sedikit
kandungan air. pemilihan ubi kayu sebagai bahan baku bio-ethanol dapat memberikan nilai lebih
bila upaya pengembangan bahan bakar nabati tidak dilakukan dengan cara deforestasi tegakan
hutan tropis ataupun mengambil lahan dan bahan baku untuk pangan yang menyebabkan
kelangkaan pangan jenis tertentu (food scarcity).
Oleh karena itu pada skripsi ini maka diambil judul “Perancangan Alat Produksi Bio- Ethanol
Dari Bahan Baku Singkong”.
The global issue that becomes the attention of the world to develop is energy. The use of nature
resources that can’t renew had been lived. The reserve of fuel from the fossil now has been
decrease. Latter the rare of fuel that happen now, make us to looking for another energy
resources. One of the resources is the alternative fuel that creates from many time of biology
product that has been known as bio fuel. Now bio fuel has expanded in the world and bio ethanol
is one of the examples.
Bio ethanol is one of concerning plants resources that produce from many kinds of plants such as
cassava. Cassava has potential to the developed in critical la nds with contain a few of water. To
select the cassava as the material in bio ethanol can give more value if the efforts of concerning
plants resources did not use deforestation ways, clearing away the tropic forest or taking the land
of food stuff that causes the scare of certain kinds of food.
Therefore in this thesis take the title “Design of Tools Production of Bio Ethanol Used the
Cassava as the Material”.
