Accelerated aging w a s conducted by t h e method of Sadjad, using
t h e IPB 77-1 Rapid Aging Machine.
The influence of G i b b e r e l l i c
Acid (0, 250, 500 p p ) dipping periode of GA (0, 5 , 10, 15
h o u r s ) , a r t i f i c i a l aging (95 p e r c e n t e t a n o l vapor) and v a r i o u s
i n t e r a c t i o n s of t h e s e f a c t o r s on the germination and 4-amylase
enzym a c t i v i t y of "Harapan Baru" corn ( @ a maye L.) seeds were
,
determined.
G i b b e r e l l i c Acid increased t h e a c t i v i t y of .C-amylase enzym
on t r e a t e d and u n t r e a t e d seed l o t s , although t h e r e i s no s i g n i f i c a n t d i f f e r e n t on germination.
The a c t i v i t y of 4-amylase enzym is s i g n i f i c a n t l y influenced by t h e period of dipping, b u t
t h e concentration of G i b b e r e l l i c Acid d i d n o t affected.
