b. Safety Needs
When physiological needs are fulfilled, there will become new needs that categorized as the safety needs. The examples are security of body, of
employment, of resources, of morality, of the family, of health, of property, and etc. This need is almost as an exclusive organizer of behavior that absorbs all the
capacity of organism as the satisfaction effort Maslow, 1984, p. 43. c.
Love Needs If the physiological and safety needs are fulfilled, the next need is love
needs. People will need relationship that is full of love with others so, they will do anything to reach their goal. The examples are friendship, family, and sexual
intimacy Maslow, 1984, p. 48. d.
Esteem Needs Everyone needs the recognition of their selves. In case, there are needs
that are classified into two. The first are desire and strength, achievement, sufficiency, the excellence and the ability, belief, and independence and freedom.
The second are good name or prestige, status, fame and glory, domination, recognition, attention, and dignity or appreciation Maslow, 1984, p. 50.
e. Self-Actualization Needs
This term is pointed to people‟s self-actualization needs where they need to actualize their selves as what is in their capability. However, it can be
9 expressed as the needs to be more special. The examples are morality, creativity,
spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice, and acceptance of facts Maslow, 1984, p. 52.
There are five basic hierarchy needs of motivation according to Maslow 1984:
