Most Badis go to work in India, and some are drivers and bus conductors. In this way, they are living somewhat diferently than in the past. According to some old Badi men of Rakam and Dang, there is no end to the prostitution occupation, which has been going on since the time of petty kings. In the past, they used to be involved openly in prostitution; now they do it secretly. hey send their women to hotels in India for dancing and prostitution. It’s fairly recently that Badis have settled in Jamune Bazaar in large numbers. In the past, there were only two houses in the area. Seeing this other Badis also came to settle here. here have been many changes in this area along with the settlement of Badis. Now all houses are brightly lit with electricity. However, the houses are the same old style. In the past there was no telephone, but now everyone has mobile phones in their hands. Health centers, schools, and groups are present. here are many national and international organizations now. he fastest change was the establishment of a market. In the past there was no market. Until a few years ago only bidis and chocolates were available in the bazaar, which had only three to four shops. Now there is a big bazaar. here are not only government schools but also colleges and private schools.

4.7 Health

Health is a basic factor for every type of development and progress in life. However, more than 50 percent Badis experience illness or injuries annually by infectious disease 26, chronic disease 22 and multiple ailments 13. Interestingly, still 25 percent of Badis are using traditional treatment system. Another interesting thing is that around 32 percent of Badis still depend on spring water and only 0.66 have access to protected well.
