ABSTRACT
Coffee is the potential export co~nmodityi n West Sumatera Provnced now. Coffee cultivation area
have reached 43.900 ha with the total production was gotten 23.199 ton. Development of the
coffee production should be supported by primary and secondary processing facilities. West
Sumatera Assess::~e:~tInstitute Agricultural Technology (WSAIAT) was conducted the technical
experiment f o i machinery processing peeler coffee Type Pulper 106 in mechanization and
agricultural technology laboratory. The objective o f this study was ( I ) To know capacity of work
machine peeler o f cofree. (2) T o analyzed the economical cost production, and (3) Socialization
tnachillc peeler ofcoll'cc in i'ar~ncrgroup to increase cluality. Result o f the study got by capacities
work peel o f mean 103.19 kglhour for the coffee arabica and 74.64 k g h o u r for the coffee o f
robusta. Seed percentage do not peel o f f for the coffee arabica 4.59 %, and for the coffee robusta
5.17 %. Peel percentage for coffee arabica 93.72 % and 92.81 % for the coffee robusta. While
percentage for the seed o f break 4.25 % for the coffee o f arabica and for the coffee robusta 4.18

%. Percentage losing o f result for the coffee o f arabica 0.63 % and 0.59 % for the coffee o f
