ebagai bagian dari kerjasama USAID-BAPPENAS dala~npengelolaan wilayah pesisir, pada tahun pertama.
BAPPEDA telah memberikan mandat kepada CRMPJProyek Pesisir untuk rnembuat profil wilayah pesisir
Lampung. yang rnenyajikan gambar status masa kini tentang sumberdaya alam dan rnanusia di seluruh wilayah
pesisir Lampung.
Data telah dihirnpun dari semua lembaga instansi pe~nerintahterkait dan analisis awal telah dilaksanakan, namun karena
terjadi ketidak konsistenan dan keterbatasan informasi, maka diperlukan upaya ekstra untuk niengklarifikasi situasi di
lapangan.
Lebih dari 250 orang telah terlibat secara aktif dalam pengumpulan informasi: staf Dinas teknis tingkat I1 dan
tingkat I, Universitas Lampung, Institut Pertanian Bogor dan Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat lokal. Wawancara
dilaksanakan terhadap sedikitnya 4 orang yang mewakili desanya dari 184 desa pantai yang ada di Lampung. Antara
September 1998 dan Mei 1999 melalui proses kontekstualisasi progresif serta penaja~nanfokus petigurnp~~lan
informasi., akhirnya kejelasan dan gambar aktual dari situasi dan potensi pembangunan di Lampung telah dikompilasi.
Informasi yang tersusun dari selnua Laporan Teknis dan suatu seri dt-~!fi
Atlas kemudian dipresentasikan kembali
kepada penyedia informasi selama tiga bulan waktu verifikasi. Pada akhir Mei 1999 informasi yang telah disetujui
keabsahannya oleh semua pihak siap untuk dipublikasikan. Pada bulan Juli 1999, Atlas ini dipublikasikan dan
didistribusikan kepada lebih dari 500 organisasi di Lampung. lnformasi yang terdapat dalam Atlas ini diharapkan akan
digunakan selama proses penyatuan visi atau dalam penyusunan Rencana Strategis Pengelolaan Sumbcrdaya Pesisir
Lampung, yang telah dirnandatkan oleh Gubernur Lampung ~nen,jadifokus utama kegiatan Proyek Pesisir tahun kedua.

ABSTRACT
As part of the USAID- Bappenas Coastal Resources Management Project's (CRMP) first year in Lampung. the
Provincial Planning Board in Lampung requested that a profile of the coastal areas be prepared, to provide an LIP-todate picture of the status of the resources, natural and hurnan uses, throughout the coastal region of Lampilng .
Data was collected from all the relevant Government services and a preliminary analysis conducted. The inconsistencies and shortfalls in information collected allowed CRMP resources to be channelled to priority subjects for
primary data collection (field surveys) in all coastal areas of Lampung Province.
Over 250 people were involved in actively gathering information; Dinas staff at District and Provincial level and
volunteers from Unila, IPB and local NGO's were invited to undertake each step of the process. Inter\'w w s were
conducted with at least four people from almost every one of 184 villages on the coastline in La~npung(over 600
interviews). Between September 1998 and May 1999 and through a process of progressive contextualisation and
narrowing the focus of information gathering, a clear and up to date picture of the situation and potential for development in Lampung was compiled.
The information compiled in technical reports and a series of drafts of the Atlas of the Coastal Resources of
Lampung, were then presented back to the providers of the information during a three month period of verification.
By the end of May 1999, the information had been agreed as true by Government services at Provincial and District
level and by members of Lampung's NGO and commercial sectors. In July 1999 the Atlas of the Coastal Resources
of Lampung was published and distributed to over 500 organisations in Lampung. The information contained in the
Atlas is expected to be used during the visioning process for strategic planning (Renstra) of the coastal areas of
Lampung, that has been requested by the Governor of Lampung to be the focus of the CRMP's second year of activity.
