Previeous Study THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Based on the theories above, it is formulated hypotheses as folows: 1. H Null Hypothesis There is no significant difference of students’ reading skill based on their learning style; visual, auditory and kinesthetic. 2. H a Alternative Hypothesis There is any significant difference of students’ reading skill based on their learning style; visual, auditory and kinesthetic. It can be concluded that the hypothesis which related to theories from some experts above is H a. It can be said that there will be a significant difference of students’ reading skill based on their learning styles. Hence, it means that learning style is one factors affected students’ reading skill. 23

CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

A. Place and Time of the Research

This research held on January 21 th – August 28 th 2014.The research took place in MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Ciputat on Jl. Dewi Sartika, Gg. Nangka, Ciputat.

B. Method of the Research

Method of the research is the way to get information with collecting data and using reliable and valid procedure. 1 In addition, based on M. Nazir stated that method of the research is the way to get information of the research using research technic and procedure. 2 This study is quantitative method, using a causal comparative research design. “The basic causal comparative is retrospective causal comparative research, which starting with effects and investigating causes.” 3 Causal comparative is sometimes called ex post facto, which come from Latin for “after the fact”, because both the effect and the alleged cause have already occures and must be studied in retrospect. Thus, causal comparative is a research design observing the phenomenon which has already occures. The statement is supported by the experts. There are some definition about causal comparative research or ex post facto study. Most of them said that causal comparative research is an occured phenomenon research.
