ABSTRAK
Ardan Kukuh Prayogo, 2015. Pengantar Tugas Akhir ini berjudul
Perancangan Buku Cerita Bergambar Backpacker Sang Penjelajah Sebagai
Pengenalan Budaya Indonesia. Adapun permasalahan yang dikaji adalah (1)
Bagaimana merancang buku cerita bergambar “Backpacker Sang Penjelajah"
dalam upaya mengenalkan budaya yang ada di Indonesia dan menarik minat baca
anak ? (2) Bagaimana memilih media promosi yang sesuai untuk mendukung

penjualan produk buku cerita bergambar “Backpacker Sang Penjelajah" di pasaran
agar menarik minat pembeli ? Tujuan perancangan ini adalah untuk
memperkenalkan budaya Indonesia kepada anak-anak melalui media yang
menarik yaitu melalui buku cerita bergambar. Media tersebut tidak hanya harus
sesuai dengan anak-anak, tapi juga harus memiliki nilai artistik agar menarik
minat targetnya. Diharapkan melalui media buku cerita bergambar tersebut
mampu menumbuhkan kesadaran pentingnya mengenal budaya Indonesia.
Dengan demikian dapat melestarikan budaya Indonesia.

ABSTRACT
Ardan Kukuh Prayogo, 2015. The title of the final project is Designing
Story Book “Backpacker Sang Penjelajah” as Introduction of Indonesian Culture.
The issues that being discuss as follows (1) How to designing a story book
“Backpacker Sang Penjelajah" in introducing Indonesian culture and appealing
towards children? (2) How to choose the suitable promotion medium to support
the sales product of story book in the market to appeal to the buyers? The aim of
the designing is to introduce Indonesian culture towards children by story book
with picture as an interesting media. This media must not only suitable to kids but

also has to have artistic value to attract the targets. Hopefully, by story book can
be a media to enhance the awareness of the importance of understanding
Indonesian culture. Therefore, it will able to conserve Indonesian culture.
