Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui besar potensi cadangan
karbon pada tegakan pohon, dan nilai ekonomi cadangan karbon pada tegakan
pohon di hutan primer resort Sei Betung Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser.
Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Mei sampai Juli 2017. Teknik
pengambilan contoh didasarkan kebutuhan penelitian (Purposive Sampling).
Ukuran plot 30m x 30m sebanyak 31 plot untuk mengamati pohon dengan
diameter >20 cm, pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode nondestructive
dengan analisis data biomasa menggunakan model allometrik dengan kandungan
karbon 46% dari biomassa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 33
jenis pohon dari 21 Famili. Kandungan biomassa tersimpan pada tegakan pada
plot pengamatan 785,4892ton/ha, dengan jumlah total pendugaan cadangan karbon
di Hutan Primer Resort Sei Betung TNGL sebesar 2.918.514,722 ton. Nilai
ekonomi cadangan karbon tegakan pohon di Hutan Primer Resort Sei Betung
TNGL menurut Ulu Masen (2011) sebesar Rp. 158.767.200.876,80 menurut Van

Beukering et al. (2003)sebesar Rp. 198.459.001.096,00, dan menurut Saloh and
Clough (2002) berkisar Rp. 95.377.003.288,00 – Rp. 793.836.004.384,00.

MASTIUR TINAMBUNAN: The Economic Value of Carbon Reserves at the
Sumatran Orangutan (Pongo Abelii) in The Sei Betung Resort Primary Forest of
Gunung Leuser National Park. Under Academic Supervision by AGUS
PURWOKO and NURDIN SULISTIYONO.
The purpose of this study is to know the potential of carbon stocks in tree
stands, and the economic value of carbon stocks in tree stands in the primary
forests of Sei Betung Resort Gunung Leuser National Park. This research has
been conducted from May to July 2017. Sampling technique is based on research
needs (Purposive Sampling). Plot size 30m x 30m 31 plots to observe trees with
diameters >20 cm, data retrieval was done by nondestructive method with

biomass data analysis using allometric model with 46% carbon content from
biomass. The results showed that 33 tree species were found from 21 families. The
biomass content is deposited on stands in the observation plot of 785,4892ons/ha,
with the total estimated carbon stock in the Sei Betung Resort Primary Forest of
Gunung leuser national park of 2.918.514,722 tons/ha. The economic value of
tree stand carbon stocks in the Sei Betung Resort Primary Forest of Gunung
leuser National Park according to Ulu Masen (2011) is Rp. 158.767.200.876,80,
according to Van Beukering et al. (2003) of Rp. 198.459.001.096,00, and
according to Saloh and Clough (2002) it ranges from Rp. 95.377.003.288,00- Rp.
793.836.004.384,00.
