PENGARUH MOTIF SOSIAL MCCLELLAND TERHADAP HARDINESS PADA
ORANG SIMALUNGUN DI RAYA

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh motif McClelland yang terdiri dari
need for achievement, need for power, dan need for affiliation terhadap hardiness pada orang
Simalungun di Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan analisa data
menggunakan analisa multiple regresi. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 750 orang
Simalungun yang tinggal di Raya dan sekitarnya. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian
ini adalah skala adaptasi yaitu adaptasi skala motif McClelland (1998), dan adaptasi skala
hardiness Kobasa (1995). Kedua skala tersebut diadaptasi dan ditranslasi oleh beberapa
orang dibidang linguistik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Tidak ada pengaruh
need for achievement terhadap hardiness orang Simalungun di Raya (2) Tidak ada pengaruh
need for power terhadap hardiness pada orang Simalungun di Raya (3) Tidak ada pengaruh
need for affiliation terhadap hardiness pada orang Simalungun di Raya

The Influence of McClelland Social Motives to Hardiness of Simalungunese in Raya

This study attempts to identify the effects of mcClelland motives, consisting of need
for achievement, need for power and need for affiliation to hardiness of simalungunese in
Raya. This research uses the quantitative method, and analyzed using multiple reggression.
The subject of study were 750 simalungunese in Raya and surrounding. The measuring
instrument used in this research was adapted scale, namely motivational need scale by
mcClelland ( 1998) and Short Hardiness Scale by Kobasa (1995). This research result
indicates that (1) There is no influence of need for achievement to hardiness of
simalungunese in Raya (2) There is no influence of need for power to hardiness of
simalungunese in Raya (3) There is no influence of need for affiliation to hardiness of
simalungunese in Raya
