the students' la ngua ge exploita tion qua lity. The r esult shows tha t a ll subjects ha ve
a lr ea dy ma ster ed the str a tegies of constr ucting the str uctur e of a na r r a tive text. They
conta in a t lea st thr ee obliga tor y discour se units of na r r a tive text, such a s or ienta tion,
complica tion, a nd r esolution. Mea nwhile, they ma de sever a l gr a mma tica l er r or s such
a s wr ong selection of conjunctions, using too ma ny conjunctions in a sentence, a nd
putting wr ong conjunctions. Mor eover ,some childr en use some 'ma tur e 'wor ds showing
tha t they a r e lexica lly mor e a dva nced tha n other childr en. It is hoped tha t pa r ents a nd
tea cher s ca n benefit fr om the findings for the childr en s impr ovement in la ngua ge
a cqusition.

ini membahas kualitas olah bahasa yang diperoleh anak usia sekolah dasar
yang direpresentasikan oleh teks sebagai hasil kegiatan bercerita. sejumlah 21 anak
usia sekolah dasar di daerah Surakarta zyxwvutsrqponmlkjihgfedcbaZYXWVUTSRQPONMLKJIHGFEDCBA
seca r a pur posive dipilih sebagai subjek penelitian.
Kriteria yang menjadi dasar pemilihan adalah status mereka sebagai siswa sekolah
dasar di Surakarta, jenjang kelas 4 dan 5, kemarnpuan membaca teks berbahasa
Indonesia, mempunyai kesukaan mernbaca cerita, dan bersedia diwawancarai, Mereka
diminta bercerita berdasarkan sebuah buku cerita bergarnbar tanpa narasi denganjudul
