ABSTRACT
In 2009 PDAM Semarang raise rates by 10%. Rate increase is expected to improve
performance. The research assessed the performance before and after the rate increase, taps
Semarang District pursuant to Decree of the Minister of the Interior (Kepmendagri) Number 47
Year 1999. PDAM is a local company that specializes in water supply.
Secondary data for this study were obtained from the PDAM Semarang District from
2007 until 2010. The analytical tool used in this study is a quantitative deskriptif analysis
techniques.
The research result shows Semarang PDAM losses in 2007 through 2008, this is due to
the low base rate of water is determined by PDAM semarang, but it’s also due to damage and
leaking pipes, causing much water is wasted. The existence policy is PDAM Semarang in 2009
by raising the base rate of water positively impact the company's improved financial
performance to an increase in return on assets ratio of earning assets, increased sales at a ratio
of profit to sales, lowering the ratio of total debt to total assets to total debt.
