Our Programmes

Our Offices

60 percent of all our programmes are implemented at the request
of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
(BMZ). In addition, we conduct programmes for other German
federal ministries and international organisations. We are also
working in cooperation with the German business sector in public

private partnership projects that can be designed to incorporate
economic, social, and environmental goals.

InWEnt gGmbH is headquartered in Bonn. In addition, InWEnt
maintains fourteen Regional Centres throughout the German
Länder, providing convenient points of contact for all regions. Our
foreign operations in Beijing, Cairo, Hanoi, Kiev, Lima, Managua,
Manila, Moscow, New Delhi, Pretoria, São Paulo, and Tanzania are
usually affiliated with other organisations of German Development
Cooperation.

The programmes for people from developing, transition and
industrialised countries are tailored to meet the specific needs of
our partners. We offer practice-oriented advanced education and
training, dialogue sessions, and e-Learning courses. After the training programmes, our participants continue their dialogue with each
other and with InWEnt via active alumni networks.
By offering exchange programmes and arranging scholarship
programmes, InWEnt also provides young people from Germany
with the opportunity to gain professional experience abroad.

International Leadership Training on
Corporate Human Resource Development

ILT participants spend a year consolidating their technical know-how, their management skills and their capacity to implement
change in Germany. In the run-up to this,
they will already have undertaken a sixmonth technical and language preparatory
course in their native counties, while continuing their professional work in parallel.

Most of the recipients of scholarships
selected by InWEnt already have an academic education and two years of professional experience behind them. During the
four-month practical training phase within a
company, participants can consolidate their
newly-gained knowledge and develop professional contacts.

Announcement and call for applications
This information is intended for institutions and individuals interested in the
InWEnt International Leadership Training
(ILT) on Corporate Human Resource
Development due to start on 1 December
2008.

International Leadership Training (ILT):
General information
The International Leadership Training (ILT)
programme of InWEnt - Internationale
Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH provides training for technical and management staff in companies and institutions
from developing countries and countries
undergoing transformation, so that they can

then initiate and manage processes of
change within their own countries.

In the course of their training, ILT
participants use InWEnt's Global Campus
21® advanced Internet training platform.
Once they have gained their ILT qualification, the successful participants remain in
touch with each other through InWEnt's
global network of former participants.
With its International Leadership Training programme, InWEnt is making an
important contribution towards global "capacity building", through the development
of specific individuals.

ILT ”Corporate Human Resource Development”
The International Leadership Training on
Corporate Human Resource Development
is funded by the German Ministry of Economic Co-operation and Development
(BMZ) and directed at participants from

Asia, especially from Indonesia. The number of places on the programme is limited.

Programme Objectives
The ILT programme sets out to support
Asia as a partner region in its efforts to
establish professional Human Resource
Development (HRD) departments in its in-

4

stitutions, businesses and training organisations. Providing ILT participants with
the chance to experience effective organizations and companies in this area in Germany allows them to see how HRD
concepts are applied and gives them a realistic idea of how HRD can be strengthened
in their own institution. The practical experience of working in German institutions
and companies is one main focus of the
programme. The overall objective is to
enhance professionalism among HR developers and training staff and strengthen
company involvement in corporate education and training.

Target Group

The programme supports public and private
training providers and the corporate sector in
Human Resource Development (HRD). The
ILT programme is designed for junior HRD
professionals and junior HRD management
staff in companies and other institutions in
the corporate sector, e.g. employers’ associations, professional associations, legal chambers. The programme is similarly intended for
specialist district, regional and national level
ministries involved in HRD, e.g., Ministry of
National Education, Ministry of Industry,
Ministry of Manpower, etc.

Learning and teaching methods

Applicant profile

Sending organisation contribution

The course components, subjects and learning objectives require effective learning and
teaching methods:

- Applicants must have a university degree
in engineering science, business management, human resource development
or a related subject (minimum requirement: bachelor degree).
- A least two years of professional experience in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) or Human
Resource Development.
- Knowledge of PC hardware, software and
Internet applications.
- The perspective of professional development at work.

- The applicant's employer must formally
support the application and the employee's advanced professional training
plan .
- Employers must also provide a written
statement guaranteeing their employee's professional re-integration after
the programme and supporting the integration of the participant's newly acquired professional expertise in their
institution/company.
- Employers are expected to bear the contributions for their employees
(salary/employee leave benefits during
the training phase in Germany, international travel costs).

Self-determined and interactive learning
Participants need to be aware of their own
aims and the way they learn. Instead of
being “passive students”, participants actively contribute to support learning and interact with teachers/ trainers and fellow
students in lectures, group-work and all
other training activities.
Individual project
The project is tutored by experts but requires a responsible and self-reliant approach, with the ability to integrate into
existing project teams, time schedules and
working processes.

Venues
International and intercultural character
The training course's international orientation further supports intercultural learning
and interaction. Working with colleagues
from different regions, countries and cultures is a pre-requisite for understanding
global thinking.

Language
German
All International Leadership Training
Courses are conducted entirely in German.
Because of that applicants need to acquire
basic knowledge in German. The requirement for being accepted and receive an Official Letter of invitation for travelling to
Germany is passing the German language
exam Start-Deutsch-1.
Learning a foreign language effectively depends on optimal individual and job-related
requirements (e.g. personal availability).
Therefore InWEnt offers different learning
options, ranging from a highly intensive
full-time face-to-face German language
course (180 teaching hours) to e-learning/ecoaching courses with support by an online
tutor, comprising 250 hours of German lessons.
The decision about the respective learning
option lies with InWEnt but is evaluated together with the candidate after the approval
of the application.

Certificate
- InWEnt Certificate of Advanced Training
- German language certificate
