This research is conducted to know : (1) the difference result of learning
pathology- between the participation strategy and conventional teaching. (2) the
interaction between participation teaching and student's first ability to snident's study
result The hypotesis on this reseach are : (1 )there is difference between the
participation strategy and conventional teaching strategy to the student's pathology

student's first ability ti the student's physics learning result, if: (a) the participation
teaching strategy gives the higher result to student with hugh first ability than the
student with low first ability, (b) conventional teaching strategy givu_the higher
result to student with low first ability tha student with high first ability. This research
is conducted in Program Studi S 1 Keperawatan Departemen Patologi Anatomi
Fakultas Kedolcteran USU Medan, North Sumatera, by using quasy-experiment
method with factorial 2x2, and the sample is taken arom1d 77 student.
The student in this result used multiple choice test with 4 options. To take
studenf s first ability data, the test Use is student's fll'St ability test. The number of test
is 41 items and the reliability is 0.851, while to take student's pathology learning
result data, the test used in pat)tology learning test result. The number of the test is 44
items, and the reliability is 0.822. The data is analyzed by using anova two ways to
number of different cell, than it is te!.1ed 1::'I schetfe test, with significance level
Cl = 5%.
