The aims of the research was to know whether or not there was a correlation study on students’ achievement of TEFL and their PPL at seventh semester of English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto in academic year 2009/2010.

  th

The research was conducted on 29 January 2010 at seventh semester of English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto. This research used descriptive method. The total number population was 146 students consisting of three classes. To determine the sample, the writer used random sampling. The sample of the research was 36 students.

In collecting the data, the writer used documentary technique to know the students’ achievement of TEFL subject and their PPL. The writer used score of TEFL subject of the final examination of the data. The writer took 25% of the population as the sample. After analyzing the data, the writer got the result of computation of Product Moment Correlation was 0.005. The r- table in the level of significant was 5% was 0.329 for N= 36. So the product moment correlation lower than of the r- table (0.005<0.329). This statistical data proved and that hypothesis was rejected. Thus, it proved that there was no correlation study on the students’ achievement of TEFL subject and their PPL at the seventh semester of English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto inthe academic year 2009/2010.
