ABSTRAK
Tombang Romario Simangunsong. Respons Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Bawang
Merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) Terhadap Pemberian Kompos TKKS dan Jarak
Tanam di Dataran Rendah, dibawah bimbingan Dr. Ir. Jonatan Ginting, MS
dan Ir. Mbue Kata Bangun, MP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
respons pertumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.)
dengan pemberian kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan jarak tanam di dataran
rendah. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan penduduk di Jl. Pasar I No 89, Kelurahan
Tanjung Sari, Kecamatan Medan Selayang, Kota Medan pada Mei sampai Juli
2015, menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah, dengan 2 faktor perlakuan dalam
3 ulangan. Petak utama yakni jarak tanam (20 cm x 20 cm, 20 cm x 15 cm dan 20
cm x 10 cm). Anak petak kompos TKKS (0 kg, 0,5 kg, 1 kg, 1,5 kg dan 2 kg).
Parameter yang digunakan adalah panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah
anakan,bobot basah per sampel, bobot kering per sampel, bobot basah per plot,
bobot kering per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Pemberian kompos TKKS
berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot basah per sampel,bobot kering per
sampel,bobot basah per plot dan bobot kering per plot. Penggunaan jarak tanam
hanya berpengaruh nyata pada parameter panjang tanaman pada umur 6 MST.
Interaksi tidak berbeda nyata antara pemberian kompos TKKS dan jarak tanam

terhadap semua parameter yang diamati.

ABSTRACT

Tombang Romario Simangunsong. The growth and production responses of
shallat (Allium ascalonicum L.) due to the giving of TKKS Compost and Plant
Spacing in the lowlands, supervised by Dr. Ir. Jonatan Ginting, MS and
Ir. Mbue Kata Bangun, MP. This research was to study the response of the
growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) due to the giving of oil
palm empty fruit bunches compost and the plant spacing in the lowlands. This
research was conducted at the land of citizens in Jl. Pasar I No. 89, Tanjung Sari
Village, District of Medan Selayang from May to July 2015, and used Split Plot
Design, with 2 factors and three replications. Main plot is the plant spacing
(20 cm x 20 cm, 20 cm x 15 cm and 20 cm x 10 cm) . Sub plot is TKKS compost
(0 kg, 0,5 kg, 1 g, 1,5 kg and 2 kg). The parameters which used were plant

length, total of leaves, total of tillers, the fresh weight per sample, the dry weight
per sample, the fresh weight per plot, the dry weight per plot. The results showed
that the giving of TKKS compost was significantly affected to the fresh weight per
sample,the dry weight per sample, fresh weight per plot and dry weight per plot.
The use of plant spacing only showed significantly effect on the plant length
parameter at the age of 6 WAP. There interaction was not significantly different
between the giving of TKKS compost and plant spacing on all parameters
observed.
