Home industri kompor mampu meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat desa Merjosari yang
sebagian besar warganya bekerja di sektor home industri dan sebagian ada yang bertani.
Keberadaan industri rumah tangga ini berdiri pada tahun 70an, dan usaha ini sangat berperan
dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat, hal ini dapat di lihat dengan keberadaan home
industri itu sendiri serta tenaga kerja yang di serap. Kenyataan sebagian besar warga yang
melaksanakan aktifitasnya sebagai pengrajin pembuat kompor, baik sebagai pengusaha,
pedagang kompor dan sebagai pekerja. Bagi pengrajin kompor, berkerja pada industri rumah
tangga ini merupakan tempat untuk mengembangkan keahlian disamping sebagai lapangan
pekerjaan. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa industri rumah tangga kompor mempunyai peranan
sebagai tempat pengembangan diri dan untuk memperoleh taraf hidup yang lebih tinggi.
Pada penelitian ini, peneliti meneliti tentang “ Profil Home Industri KOMPOR SUMBU
MASYARAKAT MERJOSARI DI KECAMATAN LOWOKWARU KOTA MALANG”.Untuk
mengetahui bagaimana perkembangan usaha home industri kompor dimasyarakat Merjosari
Kec.Lowokwaru Kota Malang pada saat ini. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh industri
kerajinan kompor terhadap pendapatan keluarga
Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yang
bertujuan memberikan gambaran yang jelas tentang keadaan obyek pada saat sekarang
berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang tampak atau sebagaimana adanya. Teknik pengambilan sampel
menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga diperoleh sampel sejumlah 10 orang.
Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi langsung dan wawancara bebas..
Sedangkan kerangka teori dalam penelitian ini menggunakan struktural fungsional dari Robert K
Merton. Dari dasar-dasar ini, Merton mengemukakan gagasan tentang adanya disfungsi. Fungsi
merupakan konsekuensi-konsekuensi yang dapat diamati yang menimbulkan adaptasi atau
penyesuaian dari sistim tertentu (Ritzer, 2004:139). Bila struktur atau institusi bisa memelihara
bagian-bagiannya, maka disebut fungsional.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Merjosari, dalam mencari mata pencaharian,
Masyarakat Merjosari mereka ada yang berkerja dipabrik-pabrik, bekerja sebagai
pegawai,bertani, dan ada juga sebagai pengusaha home industri kompor sumbu. Dengan semakin
meningkatnya perkembangan pembangunan yang ada, maka secara tidak langsung akan
mempengaruhi juga perkembangan masyarakat yang ada. Untuk kesejahteraan keluarga para
pengusaha home industri kompor sumbu ini hidup mereka rata-rata sudah mapan dan
berkecukupan dan malahan dari sebagian dari mereka sudah menunaikan ibadah Haji ke Mekah.
Dan mereka juga mengatakan kepada peneliti berterima kasih untuk mensurvei ke usaha home
industri mereka, karena dengan cara ini mereka juga mengatakan bisa mengenalkan produk
kompor mereka kekampus – kampus, dan mereka sangat terbuka sekali untuk orang yang
mengadakan penelitian di sini. Jadi tidak kemungkinan apa bila ada dari mahasiswa melakukan
penelitian skripsi tentang masalah kompor mereka siap membantu dalam memberikan data-data
yang diperlukan oleh peneliti.
Abstract

or institution can maintain its parts, it is called functional.
The results showed that the community Merjosari, in search of livelihood, they have a good Merjosari
