ABSTRAKSI
Handphone atau lebih dikenal juga dengan telepon sellular adalah merupakan salah satu bentuk
sarana komunikasi yang digunakan untuk mengirim atau menerima informasi dari seseorang
kepada orang lain. Seiring perkembangan teknologi, teknologi komunikasi umumnya akan
mempunyai dampak atau pengaruh yang cukup luas baik secara positif dan negatif sebagaimana
di banyak Negara-negara di dunia. Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi lebih sering kita ketahui
adalah fitur yang ada pada ponsel. Dengan fitur multimedia yang berupa kamera foto, video,
MP3, mini browser, radio dan fasilitas lainnya tentu saja berdampak pada penggunanya sesuai
dengan terpaan fitur multimedia tersebut. Sehingga dalam penelitian ini mengambil rumusan
masalah adakah pengaruh penggunaan fitur multimedia pada ponsel terhadap moral anak. Dan
jika ada, seberapa besar pengaruhnya.
Ponsel atau Telepon Seluler adalah sebuah alat komunikasi dimana selain dilengkapi
Mikrophone dan speaker untuk berbicara juga dilengkapi fasilitas Short Massage Service (SMS),
untuk mengirimkan pesan-pesan pendek antara satu orang dengan yang lainnya dalam
melakukan prosen komunikasi (Tabloid Ponsel, 30: Maret 2004). Multimedia merupakan
pemanfaatan komputer untuk membuat dan menggabungkan teks, grafik, audio, video dan
animasi dengan menggabungkan link dan tool yang memungkinkan pemakai melakukan
navigasi, berinteraksi, berkreasi dan berkomunikasi

adalah kualitas dalam perbuatan manusia yang dengan itu kita berkata bahwa perbuatan itu benar
atau salah, baik atau buruk. Moral mencangkup tentang baik buruknya perbuatan manusia
(Poespoprodjo W, 1986,102).
Tipe penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplanatori dengan menggunakan pendekatan
kuantitatif atas dasar survey. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Siswa Kelas 1 SMP Negeri 3
Bangil di Kabupaten Pasuruan yang memiliki Telepon Selular (Ponsel) yang mempunyai fitur
Multimedia, setidaknya memiliki fitur multimedia sebagai berikut: Kamera photo dan kamera
video, video phone (3GP), dan MP3 sebanyak 137 anak, dan diperoleh sampel sebesar 57 anak
berdasarkan perhitungan Taro Yamane. Sehingga teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan
adalah total sampling dimana menurut Suharsimi Arikunto (2006:134) apabila subjeknya kurang
dari 100, lebih baik diambil semua.
Dari hasil analisa yang telah dilakukan, peneliti dapat menarik kesimpulan sebagai berikut:
Pertama, terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan fitur multimedia pada ponsel terhadap moral
anak. Kedua, besarnya sumbangan atau pengaruh dari penggunaan fitur multimedia pada ponsel
terhadap moral anak adalah sebesar 8,82%. Dan sisanya 91,18% variabel Penggunaan fitur
multimedia pada ponsel akan dijelaskan oleh variabel-variabel yang lain yang tidak dijelaskan
dalam penelitian ini. Dari hasil uji Anova hubungan antara penggunaan fitur multimedia pada
handphone dengan moral anak adalah tidak signifikan. Hal ini berarti H0 diterima danH¬¬a
ditolak. Sehingga moral anak dapat dipengaruhi secara positif, akan tetapi tidak signifikan oleh
faktor penggunaan fitur multimedia pada ponsel.
ABSTRAC
Handphone or telephone cellular is one of the communication tools used to send or receive the
information among the people. In line with the progression of technology, the communication
technology will have effect positively or negatively as many countries in the world. We often
know the progression of communication technology through the multimedia feature of the
handphone. The multimedia feature is like photo camera, video, mp3, mini browser, radio and
the other facilities, certainly they influence the users in according to the multimedia feature itself.
Based on that explanation, the statement of the problems in this research were (1) is there effect
of the multimedia feature usage on handphone to the children moral, (2) how big the effect was,
if it was found.
The handphone was completed with microphone and speaker to talk, short message service
(SMS) to send a short message to another people in the communication process (Tabloid ponsel,
30: Maret 2009). Multimedia is to use the computer in making and combining the text, graphic,
audio, video and animation with link and tool that the users likely conduct navigation,
interaction, recreation and communication

quality of the human action that we can say right or wrong and good or bad. Moral covers about
good or bad to the human action (Poespoprodjo W, 1986, 102).
This research was explanatory research by using quantitative approach based on the survey. And
the population was the first year students of junior high school 3 Bangil in Pasuruanwho had
handphone with the multimedia feature. At least, it had photo and video camera, video phone
(3gp), and mp3 as much as 37 children, the sample was 57 children based on the Taro Yamane
counting. Moreover, the sample technique used total sampling. According to Suharsimi Arikunto
(2006: 134), if the subject is less from 100, it is better taken all.
Based on the analysis, the researcher concluded as follows: (1) there was effect between
multimedia feature usage on handphone to the children moral, (2) the big effect of the
multimedia feature usage on the handphone to the children moral was 8,82 %. The rest of
variable 91,18 % from the multimedia feature usage on the handphone will explain with another
variable which didn’t explain in this research. From the result of anova test, the relationship
between multimedia feature usage on the handphone to the children moral was not significant. It
meant that H0 was received and Ha was rejected. So, children moral could influence positively
but it was not significant factor of multimedia feature usage on the handphone.
