Resin komposit merupakan suatu bahan tumpatan yang memiliki banyak
kelebihan dibandingkan dengan tumpatan sewarna gigi lainnya, hal ini dikarenakan
tumpatan resin komposit memiliki kekuatan mekanik dan sifat estetik yang bagus.
Komposit mempunyai berbagai macam ukuran filler diantaranya resin komposit
microfiller dan nanofiller yang mempunyai ukuran filler yang kecil dibandingkan
dengan resin komposit lainnya. Akan tetapi resin komposit juga memiliki kelemahan
diantaranya yaitu kebocoran tepi. Kebocoran tepi diakibatkan oleh timbulnya celah
interfasial diantara gigi dan tumpatan. Kebocoran tepi terutama disebabkan oleh
penyusutan pada saat polimerisasi, sehingga mempengaruhi adaptasi yang telah
dibentuk. Adanya perubahan suhu di dalam rongga mulut ikut berperan dalam
meningkatkan kebocoran tepi tumpatan resin komposit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah
untuk mengetahui pengaruh perubahan suhu terhadap terjadinya kebocoran tepi
tumpatan resin komposit microfiller dan nanofiller.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratories dengan
rancangan penelitian Post Only Control Group Design. Sampel 20 elemen gigi
premolar RA yang baru diekstraksi (fresh). Dipreparasi klas I pada bagian fasial,
bentuk bulat, diameter 3mm, kedalaman 2mm. Kavitas dibersihkan, diberi bahan
bonding self-etch, diaplikasikan resin komposit microfiller sebanyak 10 elemen dan
resin komposit nanofiller sebanyak 10 elemen, disinar dengan menggunakan LED
light curing selama 20 detik. Sampel dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok yaitu A1 (kelompok
resin komposit microfiller tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu), A2 (kelompok resin
komposit microfiller dengan perlakuan perubahan suhu), B1 (kelompok resin
komposit nanofiller tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu), dan B2 (kelompok resin

kulkas 5˚ C selama 1 menit, diulang sebanyak 10x lalu dimasukkan ke dalam 37˚ C
sampai dengan 24 jam. Sampel dibilas lalu dipotong menjadi 2 bagian arah fasio
palatal/lingual, dipilih penetrasi metylene blue 2% yang paling dalam, diukur dengan
mikroskop binokuler perbesaran 40x dengan program GSA Image Analyzer v.3.2.9,
kemudian dilakukan uji Anova satu arah dan Uji Tukey HSD.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penetrasi metylene blue 2% pada
tumpatan resin komposit di semua kelompok sampel dengan urutan terdalam yaitu
resin komposit nanofiller tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu, resin komposit microfiller
tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu, resin komposit nanofiller dengan perlakuan
perubahan suhu, dan resin komposit microfiller dengan perlakuan perubahan suhu.
Hasil Uji Anova satu arah dan hasil Uji Tukey HSD menunjukkan adanya perbedaan
yang bermakna pada masing – masing kelompok sampel. Hal ini disebabkan adanya
shrinkage yang diakibatkan adanya pemuaian dan penyusutan yang menyebabkan
adanya celah interfasial dan patahnya resin tags yang disebabkan adanya fluktuasi
suhu yang mendadak.
Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah perubahan suhu dapat
menyebabkan peningkatan kebocoran tepi tumpatan resin komposit microfiller dan
nanofiller. Kebocoran tepi yang ditandai dengan kedalaman penetrasi metylene blue
2% pada resin komposit microfiller tanpa perlakuan suhu mempunyai rata-rata 1,054
mm, sedangkan yang diberi perlakuan suhu rata-ratanya 1,846 mm. Resin komposit
nanofiller tanpa perlakuan suhu mempunyai rata-rata kedalaman penetrasi sebesar
0,078 mm, sedangkan untuk yang diberi perlakuan suhu sebesar 1,336 mm.

Resin komposit merupakan suatu bahan tumpatan yang memiliki banyak
kelebihan dibandingkan dengan tumpatan sewarna gigi lainnya, hal ini dikarenakan
tumpatan resin komposit memiliki kekuatan mekanik dan sifat estetik yang bagus.
Komposit mempunyai berbagai macam ukuran filler diantaranya resin komposit
microfiller dan nanofiller yang mempunyai ukuran filler yang kecil dibandingkan
dengan resin komposit lainnya. Akan tetapi resin komposit juga memiliki kelemahan
diantaranya yaitu kebocoran tepi. Kebocoran tepi diakibatkan oleh timbulnya celah
interfasial diantara gigi dan tumpatan. Kebocoran tepi terutama disebabkan oleh
penyusutan pada saat polimerisasi, sehingga mempengaruhi adaptasi yang telah
dibentuk. Adanya perubahan suhu di dalam rongga mulut ikut berperan dalam
meningkatkan kebocoran tepi tumpatan resin komposit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah
untuk mengetahui pengaruh perubahan suhu terhadap terjadinya kebocoran tepi
tumpatan resin komposit microfiller dan nanofiller.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratories dengan
rancangan penelitian Post Only Control Group Design. Sampel 20 elemen gigi
premolar RA yang baru diekstraksi (fresh). Dipreparasi klas I pada bagian fasial,
bentuk bulat, diameter 3mm, kedalaman 2mm. Kavitas dibersihkan, diberi bahan
bonding self-etch, diaplikasikan resin komposit microfiller sebanyak 10 elemen dan
resin komposit nanofiller sebanyak 10 elemen, disinar dengan menggunakan LED
light curing selama 20 detik. Sampel dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok yaitu A1 (kelompok
resin komposit microfiller tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu), A2 (kelompok resin
komposit microfiller dengan perlakuan perubahan suhu), B1 (kelompok resin
komposit nanofiller tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu), dan B2 (kelompok resin

dan B1 direndam pada metylene blue 2% dimasukkan pada inkubator 37˚ C selama 24
jam, sedangkan kelompok A2 dan B2 diberi perlakuan perubahan suhu yaitu
dimasukkan ke dalam microwave 60˚ C selama 1 menit lalu dimasukkan ke dalam
kulkas 5˚ C selama 1 menit, diulang sebanyak 10x lalu dimasukkan ke dalam 37˚ C
sampai dengan 24 jam. Sampel dibilas lalu dipotong menjadi 2 bagian arah fasio
palatal/lingual, dipilih penetrasi metylene blue 2% yang paling dalam, diukur dengan
mikroskop binokuler perbesaran 40x dengan program GSA Image Analyzer v.3.2.9,
kemudian dilakukan uji Anova satu arah dan Uji Tukey HSD.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penetrasi metylene blue 2% pada
tumpatan resin komposit di semua kelompok sampel dengan urutan terdalam yaitu
resin komposit nanofiller tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu, resin komposit microfiller
tanpa perlakuan perubahan suhu, resin komposit nanofiller dengan perlakuan
perubahan suhu, dan resin komposit microfiller dengan perlakuan perubahan suhu.
Hasil Uji Anova satu arah dan hasil Uji Tukey HSD menunjukkan adanya perbedaan
yang bermakna pada masing – masing kelompok sampel. Hal ini disebabkan adanya
shrinkage yang diakibatkan adanya pemuaian dan penyusutan yang menyebabkan
adanya celah interfasial dan patahnya resin tags yang disebabkan adanya fluktuasi
suhu yang mendadak.
Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah perubahan suhu dapat
menyebabkan peningkatan kebocoran tepi tumpatan resin komposit microfiller dan
nanofiller. Kebocoran tepi yang ditandai dengan kedalaman penetrasi metylene blue
2% pada resin komposit microfiller tanpa perlakuan suhu mempunyai rata-rata 1,054
mm, sedangkan yang diberi perlakuan suhu rata-ratanya 1,846 mm. Resin komposit
nanofiller tanpa perlakuan suhu mempunyai rata-rata kedalaman penetrasi sebesar
0,078 mm, sedangkan untuk yang diberi perlakuan suhu sebesar 1,336 mm.
