RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests holds a unique and important place in the world
of forestry. It is the only international not‐for‐profit organization that spe ializes in apa ity
development for community forestry and devolved forest management. RECOFTC engages in
strategic networks and effective partnerships with governments, nongovernment organizations,
civil society, the private sector, local people, and research and educational institutes throughout
the Asia‐Pa ifi region and eyond. With over 30 years of international experience and a
dynamic approach to capacity development—involving research, analysis and synthesis;
strategic communication; training and learning networks; and piloting and demonstrating—
RECOFTC delivers innovative solutions for people and forests.
RECOFTC is currently seeking a Partnerships and Fundraising Officer. The successful applicant
will report to the Senior Business Development Officer and e ased in RECOFTC’s headquarters
in Bangkok, Thailand. The contract period will be for 24 months with possibility of extension.
This position is open only to Thai national applicants.
Position Summary
The position’s long-term objective is to help RECOFTC build a sustainable corpus of RECOFTC
funds, while the short-term objective is to support RECOFTC’s partnership and fundraising
efforts.
The Partnerships and Fundraising Officer helps achieve partnership and fundraising goals which

will be set on an annual basis by mutual agreement. S/he reports directly to the Senior Business
Development Officer and works closely with the Executive Director as well as unit managers and
relevant RECOFTC staff from other units.
Responsibilities and Duties
Under the direction and guidance of the Senior Business Development Officer, the Partnerships
and Fundraising Officer’s main tasks and responsibilities will be as follows:




In close consultation with the Executive Director and RECOFTC unit managers, support
the development of a partnership and business development strategy and identify and
diversify fundraising sources for the next Strategic Phase (2018-2023);
Research fundraising prospects, help shape engagement strategies, develop fundraising
guidelines/organization criteria, support the drafting of proposals in partnership with
technical experts and monitor the success ratio of submitted proposals;
Promote an organization-wide culture of fundraising and partnership development by
providing guidance and training as needed;











Organize meetings; prepare presentations, RECOFTC presentation materials and reports
for donors or potential donors and partners. Maintain open communications channels
and strategic relationships, especially with key regional partners;
Together with RECOFTC’s Thailand Country Program, manage and support strategic
relationship with Thai government agencies and partners since RECOFTC is
headquartered in Thailand and the Thai government is a core donor;
Initiate and manage fundraising and stewardship events with support from the
Executive Director and Strategic Communication Manager;
Develop and maintain a partnership database;
Support the Executive Office with duties and activities related to fundraising and donor
stewardship/cultivation; and,
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Business Development Officer and/or the

Executive Director.

Qualifications and Experience:
The Partnership and Fundraising Officer will have the following essential qualifications and
experience:
Essential:







Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, natural
resource management or related fields
Over 5 years of working experience in fundraising and /or partnership management
Knowledge of current trends in charitable giving, particularly for aid agencies, grant
institutions and the private sector Experience in building and maintaining long-term
relationships with partnership constituents
Ability to design, implement and manage partnership systems

Ability to work with and communicate with a wide range of people—the public,
government, donors, and others

Desirable:





Experience working in cross-cultural environments
Work experience in Southeast Asia
Knowledge of an Asian language
Knowledge of forestry or natural resources management
