PEMBERITAAN FRONT PEMBELA ISLAM DALAM MAJALAH BERITA MINGGUAN TEMPO.
ABSTRACT
ANDHIKA PERDANA, K1A050250, 2012. The title of this research is The News
of Front Pembela Islam in Tempo Weekly News Magazine, Robert N. Entman’s
Framing Analysis Model About The News of Front Pembela Islam in Tempo
Weekly News Magazine’s Main Report Issue February 21st-27th 2011. Main
advisor Dra. Siti Karlinah, M.Si, and conselor Pandan Yudhapramesti, S.Sos, MT.
Department of Journalism, Faculty of Communication, Padjadjaran University,
Jatinangor.
This research aimed to find out how Tempo Weekly News Magazine define
problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, and give treatment
recommendation to the news of Front Pembela Islam. The researcher used Robert
N. Entman’s Analysis Framing Model to cut open the frame of the news in Tempo
Weekly News Maga zine’s main report issue February 21st-27th 2011.
The result of this research showed that Tempo Weekly News Magazine
used more pronouncement and commentary from party other than Front Pembela
Islam, such as governmental agencies and societies, with the result that Front
Pembela Islam looked like silent toward problems falling on them. Lack of
commentary from Front Pembela Islam as the news object and unbalanced
amount of commentary between two party in a dispute has made the news into a
less comprehensive and less proportional thing.
The researcher suggested Tempo Weekly News Magazine always consider
the “cover both sides” terminology on a news and always kept at arm’s length

from informants in order that the news can be served more comprehensive and
more proportional.
