TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR NBOS SOCIAL MEDIA PHOTO AND VIDEO CONTEST

1. GENERAL
1.1. This Photo and Video Contest is organized Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia whose
registered office is at No. 2, Tower 1, Jalan P5/6 Presint 5, 62200 Putrajaya, Malaysia.
1.2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this contest.
2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1. This Photo and Video Contest is open to all Malaysians and Foreigners.
2.2. Participants must become a fan on Official Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia Facebook
or Instagram in order to qualify for this contest.

4. ENTRY PERIOD
4.1. The Photo and Video Contest begins at 12:00am EST on Jan 1, 2017 and ends at 11:59pm EST
on December 31, 2017 the E try Period .
4.2. Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible.
4.3. Entries must submitted by relevance to campaign sub theme’s a d contest timeline as follows :
4.3.1. #MyCuisine
4.3.1.1. Theme Description : An opportunity for participants to show the uniqueness
and variety of delicacies of food and beverages of the multiracial communities
in Malaysia.
4.3.1.2. Contest Timeline : January 1, 2017 – February 28, 2017

4.3.2. #MyDestination
4.3.2.1. Theme Description : An opportunity for participants to share their experiences
exploring attractive locations / places of interest that are lesser known to the
public.
4.3.2.2. Contest Timeline : March 1, 2017 – April 30, 2017
4.3.3. #MyCulture
4.3.3.1. Theme Description : An opportunity for participants to share their experiences
learning the culture and heritage of Malaysia such as folk dances, songs,

customs and rituals or sharing traditional lifestyle of their own race/community.
4.3.3.2. Contest Timeline : May 1, 2017 – June 30, 2017
4.3.4. #MySports
4.3.4.1. Theme Description : An opportunity for participants to share their experiences
attending or involvement in sporting events organized in Malaysia such as
Formula One Championship Tennis, Golf, Badminton, SEA Games etc.
4.3.4.2. Contest Timeline : July 1, 2017 – August 31, 2017
4.3.5. #MyEvents
4.3.5.1. Theme Description : An opportunity for participants to share their experiences
and involvement in events held in Malaysia thus creating a sense of belonging
and patriotism for the country. Events include the celebrations, concerts,
seminars, conferences, competitions, etc.
4.3.5.2. Contest Timeline : September 1, 2017 – Oktober 31, 2017
4.3.6. #MyFamilyFun
4.3.6.1. Theme Description : An opportunity for participants to share their wonderful
experiences while they are on holiday with their families at various destinations
in Malaysia including theme parks, family entertainment centres, recreation
centres or doing activities at beaches, mountains, waterfalls etc.
4.3.6.2. Contest Timeline : November 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017


5. HOW TO PARTICIPATE
5.1. Entrants shall submit photography or short video (30 to 60 second video) by the contest closing
date and time on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #SayangMalaysia followed hashtag
Campaign Sub Theme’s.
5.2. Each entry must be uploaded to Instagram or Facebook and comply with the terms and
conditions of using the Instagram or Facebook platform.
5.3. No Submission will be considered that does not upload successfully.
5.4. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be
disqualified.
5.5. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these
terms and conditions.
5.6. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

6. SUBMISSION RULES
6.1. The following submissions are ineligible:
6.1.1. Photos or Videos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not
limited to copyright.
6.1.2. Photos or Videos that contain obscene, violent, provoke racial sentiments, politically
inclined or other objectionable or inappropriate content.
6.1.3. Photos or Videos that involve the willful harassment of wildlife, or damage to the

environment.
6.1.4. Images that involve putting any individual or animal in danger.
6.1.5. Photos and Videos that are identical or similar submission by other entrants.

7. JUDGING
7.1. Photos and Videos will be judged on originality, quality and subject matter relevance to
campaign theme.
7.2. Judging will be conducted by a panel of judges to be selected by Ministry of Tourism and
Culture Malaysia at its sole discretion.
7.3. The Panel will evaluate all valid entries and will pick the winners. Decision by panel of judges is
final.
7.4. The judgment is based on 70% of the general voting based on "likes" and 30% by Panel of
Judges appointed by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia.

8. NOTIFICATION TO WINNERS
8.1. After the judging concludes, the winner will be notified via email within 7 days of the closing
date and where the prize can be collected.
8.2. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we
reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
8.3. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal

data relating to the winner or any other entrants will not be disclosed to a third party without
the e tra t’s prior o se t.
8.4. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are
subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of
equivalent value without giving notice.
8.5. The Organizer is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third
party connected with this competition.

9. ORGANIZER’S RIGHTS
9.1. The organizer reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and
conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of
God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event
outside of the Orga izer’s o trol. A y ha ges to the o petitio will e otified to e tra ts
as soon as possible by the Organizer.
9.2. The organizer does not accept responsibility for damages arising from or related to
circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to network failure, computer viruses
or unauthorized access.
9.3. The organizer reserves the right to publish entries to its websites and social media accounts
throughout the submission period in order to publicize the contest.
9.4. The organizer will display the names of the winners and the titles of the winning entries on

contest-related websites and social media accounts, at exhibitions, and in other locations
where the works are shown.
9.5. In the event that a winner is found to be disqualified after a prize is awarded, the award may be
revoked and the entrant requested to return the prize.
9.6. The organizer may disclose to judges, and to third parties overseeing the contest, such personal
information as may be required for contest management.
