Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap hubungan optimisme dengan
kinerja yang diukur berdasarkan dimensi optimisme dan kinerja. Sampel dalam
penelitian ini berjumlah 65 dari 105 orang karyawan PT.Pos Indonesia (persero)
Kantor Pos di Kabupaten Garut yang diambil dengan metode nonprobability
sampling teknik purposive sampling menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan
metode korelasional. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner optimisme dan
hasil penilaian kinerja karyawan berdasarkan standar Sistem Manajemen Kinerja
Individu (SMKI) PT.Pos Indonesia (persero). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1)
Optimisme pada karyawan Kantor Pos di Kabupaten Garut berada pada kategori
optimisme sedang, (2) Kinerja pada karyawan Kantor Pos di Kabupaten Garut
berada pada kategori amat baik, (3) Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara
optimisme dengan kinerja karyawan PT.Pos Indonesia (persero) Kantor Pos di
Kabupaten Garut.

ABSTRACT
Rahmi Mustika Wangi (0901880). Relationship of optimism with performance of
PT.Pos Indonesia (persero) employees Post Office in Garut. Thesis Departement
of Psychology FIP UPI Bandung (2015).
The purpose of this research was to reveal the relationship optimism with
performance as measured by the dimensions of optimism and performance. The
sample in this study amounted to 65 of 105 PT.Pos Indonesia (persero) employees
Post Office in Garut taken with nonprobability sampling method purposive
sampling technique uses a quantitative approach with a correlation method.
Instruments used in the form of a optimism questionnaire and the results of the
performance appraisal standards based Individual Performance Management
System (IPMS) PT.Pos Indonesia (Persero). The results showed: (1) Optimism on
Post Office employees in Garut are at moderate optimism category, (2) the
performance of employees in Garut Post Office located on the very good category,
