asli ) , Masih ada Gerund, Misalnya :
‘ Verb + Ing ’ Menerangkan “ Activity in Progrees ” ( Kegiatan yang
sedang berlangsung ), Maka ia disebut : Present Participle .

Bila ‘ Verb + Ing ’ ini Menerangkan “ Fungsi ” dari kata bendanya ,
Maka ia disebut Gerund .

c. My mother just bought a Frying pan

d. A Carriage used for Sleeping
Karena Gerund merupakan sejenis kata benda, maka ia dapat digunakan
sebagai berikut :
a. Sebagai Subject untuk kata kerja
Contoh :
Sleeping is Necessary to life
Smoking is not good for our health
b. Sebagai Object untuk kata kerja
Contoh :
She likes Shopping
He enjoys Hunting
c. Sebagai Complement untuk kata kerja
Contoh :
His hobby is Hunting
His favourite pastime is Dancing
d. Sebagai Object untuk preposisi
Contoh :
He gave up Smoking
She is always fond of Talking
