Spatial Ability Siswa dengan Pendekatan Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning
Tipe Project di Sekolah Menengah Pertama
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan
koneksi matematis dan spatial ability siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran
problem based learning tipe project dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran
ekspositori. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain
kelompok kontrol pretes-postest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh
siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Bandung. Hasil penelitian
menunjukan: (1) Pencapaian kemampuan koneksi matematis dan spatial ability
siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran problem based learning tipe project lebih
baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori. (2) Peningkatan
kemampuan koneksi matematis dan spatial ability siswa yang memperoleh
pembelajaran problem based learning tipe project lebih baik daripada siswa yang
memperoleh pembelajaran ekspositori. (3) Terdapat asosiasi yang sedang antara
kemampuan koneksi matematis dan spatial ability siswa. (4) Siswa memberikan
respon yang positif terhadap pendekatan pembelajaran problem based learning
tipe project.

and Spatial Ability Students with Problem Based Learning Type of Project in
Junior High School.
This study aimed to examine the achievement and increase the ability to connect
mathematical and spatial learning ability of students who received the type of
problem based learning project with students who obtain expository. This study is
a quasi-experimental research design with pretest-posttest control group. The
population in this study were all students in grade VIII one junior high school in
Bandung. The results showed: (1) The achievement of the ability to connect
mathematical and spatial learning ability of students who received problem-based

learning project types are better than students who received expository. (2)
Improved ability to connect mathematical and spatial learning ability of students
who received problem-based learning project types are better than students who
received expository. (3) There is a moderate association between the connection
capabilities of mathematical and spatial abilities of students. (4) The students give
a positive response to the problem based learning approach to learning is the type
of project.
