ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini membahas tentang Pemanfaatan Koleksi Jurnal dalam Memenuhi
Kebutuhan Informasi Pemustaka di Perpustakaan Telkom University. Penelitian
ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemanfaatan koleksi jurnal untuk
kebutuhan informasi kognitif, kebutuhan informasi afektif, dan kebutuhan
informasi integrasi personal. Sedangkan metode yang digunakan yaitu metode
survei deskriptif. Pada penelitian ini, teknik pengambilan sampelnya
menggunakan teknik Sampling Purposive yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan
pertimbangan yang ditentukan oleh peneliti. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah
mahasiswa pengunjung ruangan koleksi jurnal kemudian, untuk pengambilan
datanya dilakukan melalui angket, observasi, wawancara, dan studi kepustakaan.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan koleksi jurnal
dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi pemustaka di perpustakaan Telkom
University dilihat dari aspek kebutuhan informasi kognitif, afektif, dan integrasi
personal dapat dikatakan cukup terpenuhi bagi pemustaka.

ABSTRACT

This study discusses the Utilization of Journal Collections to Meet the User’s
Information Needs at Telkom University Library. This study aims to determine
how the use of the journal collection to the cognitive information needs, affective
information needs, and the need for integration of personal information. While the
method used is descriptive survey method. In this study, the sample collection
technique using purposive sampling technique is sampling technique with
consideration determined by the investigators. The sample in this study was a
student visitor rooms journal collection. Then for the data retrieval is done
through questionnaire, observation, interview, and literature study. Based on the
results of this research is that the utilization of the journal collection to meet the
information User’s Information Needs at Telkom University seen from the
utilization of the information needs of cognitive, affective and personal
integration can be said to be useful for the users. It can be concluded also that the
Utilization of Journal Collections to Meet the User’s Information Needs are quite
beneficial and have been met.
