ABSTRAK
Telahdilakukanpembuatanmagnet permanen BaFe12O19 dengan penambahan aditif
SiO2dengan mengggunakan metode mechanical alloyingdengan milling time 24 jam.
SerbuktersebutkemudianditambahkanbahanperekatPoly Vinyl Alcohol(PVA) dan
dicetak kering dengan tekanan 30 kgF/cm2 (8 kG). Hasil cetakan berupa pellet dengan

sinteringdenganmenggunakanvacuum furnace pada suhu 800 C, 900 C, 1000 C, dan
1100oC yang ditahanselama 2 jam. Sampel yang telah disintering kemudian
dikarakterisasi yaitu meliputi karakterisasi sifat fisis (bulk density, porositas, linear
shrinkage) dengan menggunkan metode Archimedes, dianalisisstrukturkristalnyadengan
XRD dan Optical Microscope (OM), dimagnetisasidandiukurkurvahisterisisnya dengan
permagrap.Dari hasil diketahui bahwa nilai densitas meningkat, porositas menurun
sebandingdenganjumlah aditif SiO2, dan Linear Shrinkagemeningkat. Dari
hasilkarakterisasi fisis diperolehhasil yang terbaikyaitupadamilling time 24 jam dengan
suhu 1100oC pada komposisi 7 %wt, dengannilaibulkdensity = 4,59 gr/cm3,porositas =
21,03%, dan linear shrinkage = 11, 79 %. Dari salah satu hasilanalisaXRD
menunjukkanbahwatidakterbentukstruktur kristal baru, grainsize 15,6memiliki Br =
3,14 kGdanHc = 2,195kOe.

ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL PROPERTIES , MAGNETISM, AND THE
MICROSTRUCTURES OF SINTERING TEMPERATURE VARIATION OF
BARIUM HEXAFERRITE WITH SiO2 ADDITIVE

ABSTRACT


Has waged manufacture of permanent magnet BaFe12O19 with the addition of additive
composition variation SiO2 with 5 and 7 (wt%) use traditional methods of mechanical
alloying by milling time 24 hours. The powder is then added to the adhesive Poly Vinyl
Alcohol (PVA) and dry printed with a pressure of 30 kg / cm2 (8 kG). The printed form
of pellets with an average diameter of 20 mm x 3 mm. Sintering process is then
performed using a vacuum furnace at a temperature of 800oC, 900oC, 1000oC, and
1100oC were held for 2 hours. Samples were then characterized sintering which
includes the characterization of physical properties (bulk density, porosity, Linear
Shrinkage), the crystal structure was analyzed by XRD and Optical Microscope (OM),
magnetized and measured curves histerisisnya. Characterization was conducted on the
physical properties, namely density, porosity, and Linear Shrinkage by Archimedes
method, and analysis of microstructures with used XRD and OM. As for the analysis of
magnetic properties using permagraph measurement results that have been magnetized
by the Gaussmeter. From the results of measurements of density and porosity magnet
BaFe12O19 with SiO2 additives showed that the density values tend to increase, the
porosity decreases in proportion to the amount of additive SiO2, and Linear shrinkage
increases. From the results of the physical characterization obtained the best results in
milling time is 24 hours at 1100oC on komposisi7% wt, with bulk density = 4.59 g /
cm3, porosity = 21.03%, and Linear shrinkage = 11, 79 %. From one analysis XRD

results indicate that no new crystal structures are formed, grainsize 15.6 has Br = 3.14
kG and Hc = 2,195kOe.
