Abstract
This paper proposed the use of storytelling to introduce English adjectives for kindergarten
children. This was an action and qualitative research. Investigation was intended to know
how far storytelling might help teacher in teaching adjectives for kindergarten children. The
participants of this study were fifteen children - a class all together - of five to six years old
in Pantekosta Kindergarten, Magelang and they learnt English as a foreign language. There
were six times teaching and the children were given a story in each meeting. The inquiry
was narrated from teacher’s personal journals and experts’ point of view. Eventually, this
paper resulted positively. It was proven that storytelling offers fruitful contributions in the
process of adjectives teaching, which are: providing such a relaxed atmosphere; providing a
meaningful context of language learning; helping children to be concentrate; and attracting
children in learning through gestures, voice intonation, repetition, recalling, and pictures.
