ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan yang positif dan
signifikan antara Adversity Quotient dengan Kompetensi Profesional Guru PAUD di
Kecamatan Kota Raja Kabupaten Kupang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 120 guru PAUD di
Kecamatan Kota Raja Kabupaten Kupang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik sampel jenuh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan
menggunakan skala Adversity Quotient dan skala Kompetensi Profesional Guru. Hubungan
antara adversity quotient dengan kompetensi profesional guru diuji dengan korelasi pearson’s
product moment. Koefisien korelasi (r) yang diperoleh sebesar 0,567 dengan nilai signifikan
0,000 (p < 0,05). Koefisien determinan (r 2) sebesar 32,14% dan masih terdapat 67,86% yang
berkontribusi terhadap kompetensi profesional guru. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa
terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara adversity quotient dengan kompetensi
professional guru PAUD di Kecamatan Kota Raja Kabupaten Kupang. Hal ini berarti
semakin tinggi adversity quotient maka semakin tinggi kompetensi profesional guru.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to know whether there is a positive and significant
relationship between Adversity Quotient and professional competence of PAUD teachers in
Subdistrict Kota Raja, Kupang District. This study was done to 120 PAUD teachers in
Subdistrict Kota Raja, Kupang District. The sampling technique in this study is saturated
sampling. The data collection was done using Adversity Quotient scale and teacher
professional competence scale. The relationship between adversity quotient and teacher
professional competence was tested using pearson’s product moment. The correlation
coefficient (r) is 0.567 with a significance value of 0,000 (p < 0,05). The coefficient of
determination (r 2) is 32.14% and there is still 67.86% that contribute to teacher professional
competence. Therefore it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant
relationship between adversity quotient and professional competence of PAUD teachers in
Subdistrict Kota Raja, Kupang District. It means that the higher the adversity quotient, the
higher the teachers professional competence.
