Trapping and Aneurysmectomy for Giant Thrombosed Vertebral Artery

Case Report
A 60 year old man harboring a thrombosed giant aneurysm of right vertebral artery
presented with lower cranial nerve palsy and cebellar ataxia. From the digital subtraction
angiography showed that the right posterior inferior cerebellar atery was intact. This patient was
decided performed trapping of the right vertebral artery distal to PICA and just below the
thrombosed. Bilateral Suboccipital Craniotomy was performed and trapping for the distal part of
the PICA was reached from the contralateral side. Trapping of the aneurysm followed by
aneurysmectomy.
