Abstract: Having good employees' performance is the expectation of every company. One of the factors
which effects the employee's working performance is the employee's competency. Simply, it is said that
competency is the ability and skill in doing the work, and working performance is the result which is achirotd
by someone based on a specific measurement related to work itself From this definition, it shows that in ordo
to obtain good working performance and good working result, we need a certain abilihJ and skill whidl
support the work itself. This also happens for n job as n secretary. A Secretary is n •part of the hzmum
resources in an organization, whose job is helping the manager in doing his work and responsibilities. ョMセ@
secretary's working performance is influenced by her ability and skill which are usually en/led tM
competency. This research proved that there is a significant relationship between secretnnj's working
performance and the secretary's competency. This means that in order to get a good secretary working
performance, competency should be given a great attention by increasing the competency level. It is prr:nxd
thet some factors significantly influence the secretanj's competency, whether thetj are given partially OT
simultaneously influence, such as a formal education, professional trainings which have been taken by セ@
secretary and also some working experiences. All of these shows that three factors are things which should be
given attention for achieving good competency for a secretary which will influence the secretary's working
performance.
