PERANAN PERPUSTAKAAN KELILING DALAM PENGEMBANGAN MINAT BACA MASYARAKAT.

฀nti dari penelitian ini adalah mengenai peranan perpustakaan keliling
dalam pengembangan minat baca masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di
Kecamatan Bayongbong Kabupaten Garut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengetahui peranan perpustakaan keliling dalam pengembangan minat baca
masyarakat, khususnya anggota perpustakaan daerah kabupaten Garut. Penelitian
ini dilakukan di titik layanan perpustakaan keliling yaitu desa-desa yang terdapat
di Kecamatan Bayongbong Kabupaten Garut mulai dari bulan Mei hingga bulan
Juli 2014. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif.
Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif yang berada di titik
layanan perpustakaan keliling yang seluruhnya berjumlah 90 orang.Hasil dari
penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa staf perpustakaan keliling sangat membantu dan
mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pemustaka. Kemudian dilihat dari segi koleksi
bahan bacaan yang tersedia diperpustakaan keliling, bahwa koleksi yang tersedia
di perpustakaan keliling mampu membantu dan memenuhi kebutuhan informasi
yang pemustaka butuhkan. Selanjutnya dilihat dari segi fasilitas penunjang
perpustakaan keliling sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemustaka. Dari hasil
penelitian diatas, maka dapat menyimpulkan bahwa perpustakaan keliling
berperan dalam pengembangan minat baca masyarakat.

The core of this research is on the role of mobile libraries in the
develo฀ment of ฀ublic interest in reading. The research was conducted in the
District Bayongbong Garut. The ฀ur฀ose of this study was to determine the role of
bookmobile in the develo฀ment of ฀ublic interest in reading, es฀ecially members
of the library district Garut. This research was conducted in the bookmobile
service ฀oint villages located in the District of Garut Bayongbong ranging from
May to the month in July 2014. The method used in this research is descri฀tive
method. Res฀ondents in this study are active users who are in the mobile library

service ฀oint of a total of 90 ฀eo฀le. The results of this study indicate that the
mobile library staff is very hel฀ful and able to meet the user needs. Then in terms
of a collection of reading materials available in the library circumference, that
the collection is available in a mobile library is able to assist and meet the
information needs of the user need. Furthermore, in terms of su฀฀orting facilities
around the library is in conformity with the requirements user. From the above
results, it can be concluded that the mobile library role in the develo฀ment of
฀ublic interest in reading.
