Gejala Groupthink Dalam Komunikasi Kelompok (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Tentang Gejala Groupthink di Organisasi Gamadiksi USU)

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini berjudul Gejala Groupthink dalam Komunikasi Kelompok, yang
penelitiannya meliputi wawancara kepada empat orang pengurus GAMADIKSI
USU Periode 2016-2017. Masalah yang difokuskan dalam penelitian ini adalah
bagaimana proses komunikasi yang terjadi dalam komunikasi kelompok dan
gejala groupthink yang terjadi di GAMADIKSI USU serta pengaruhnya terhadap
pengambilan keputusan yang dilakukan kelompok. Adapun teori-teori yang
digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komunikasi, komunikasi kelompok
dan teori groupthink. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada metode penelitian studi
deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui proses
wawancara dengan empat pengurus GAMADIKSI USU periode 2016-2017 dari
divisi yang berbeda dan observasi pada kegiatan GAMADIKSI USU. Temuan
dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat gejala groupthink yang terjadi di
Organisasi GAMADIKSI USU.

Gejala grouthink yang ada di Organisasi

GAMADIKSI USU adalah penilaian berlebih anggota kelompok terhadap
kelompok, tekanan untuk mencapai keseragaman dan ketertutupan pikiran
kelompok terhadap ide dari kelompok lain.

ABSTRACT
This study entitled Groupthink Symptoms in Group Communications, whose
research included interviews to four GAMADIKSI USU board members from the
period 2016-2017. The problem focused on this research is how the
communication process that occurs in group communication and groupthink
phenomenon occurs in GAMADIKSI USU and its influence on group decision
making. The theories used in this research are communication theory, group
communication and groupthink theory. This research focuses on qualitative
descriptive research method. Data collection techniques were conducted through
an interview process with four managers of GAMADIKSI USU period 2016-2017
from different divisions and observations on the activities of GAMADIKSI USU.
The findings of this study indicate that there are groupthink symptoms occurring
in the GAMADIKSI USU Organization. The phenomenon of grouthink in the

Organization of GAMADIKSI USU is the over-valuation of group members to
the group, the pressure to achieve uniformity and clarity of the group's thoughts
on the ideas of other groups.
