LANGUAGE ASSISTANT PROGRAM IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
January to December 2018
Balai Bahasa Indonesia Pert h in collaborat ion wit h t he Consulat e General of t he
Republic of Indonesia in Pert h, West ern Aust ralia and t he Depart ment of
Educat ion of West ern Aust ralia are seeking part icipant s in t he 2018 Indonesian
Language Assist ant Program in West ern Aust ralia.
The program will be held f or one year, f rom January t o December 2018. During
t he program, part icipant s will t each and assist in Indonesian language
classrooms, promot ing t he Indonesian language t eaching and learning program
in West ern Aust ralia while serving as goodwill ambassadors t o int roduce
Indonesian cult ure t o enhance t he bilat eral relat ionship bet ween Indonesia and
Aust ralia. Part icipant s will be employed by t he Depart ment of Educat ion as an
Educat ion Assist ant and receive a salary t o t he amount of approximat ely
AU$1400 f ort night ly.

General Requirement s
Applicants must:
a. Be under t he age of 31 years as of 31 December 2018 due t o Aust ralian
Immigrat ion Special Language Assist ant Program Visa requirement s.
b. Submit an applicat ion let t er writ t en in English .
c. Complet e t he applicat ion f orm - downloadable f rom

d. Hold a recent graduat e degree (S1) maj oring in t he t eaching of
Indonesian language or English language.
e. Submit a let t er of recommendat ion f rom t heir immediat e supervisor.

f . Have good writ t en and oral English abilit y (proven by IELTS score of at
least 6. 5 or it s TOEFL equivalent , 600).
g. Submit a short essay in English of at least 500 words on t heir mot ivat ion
or expression of int erest t o t ake part in t he LAP program and t he
personal at t ribut es and t alent s t hey have.
h. Submit a let t er f rom a guarant or in Indonesia st at ing t hat t hey will cover
t he cost of ret urning t he applicant t o Indonesia in an emergency.

j . Take a medical examinat ion at an appoint ed inst it ut ion if select ed.
