ABSTRACT
There are many language phenomena that occur in people’s daily communication. In this case, the writer is interested in analyzing the phenomena of language, the flouting of Maxims. The purpose of this study is to describe how the flouting of Maxims occur and why they happen, especially in the talkshow. The writer choose to analyze Ini Talkshow, Ini
Talkshow is a comedy-talkshow. The data were taken from Ini Talkshow script, the writer
transcribed the talkshow and used them as a data source. The writer used the Gricean Maxim’s theory in analyzing this study. The results of this research show that there are many kinds of Maxims that were flouted. The kinds of Maxims that are flouted are Maxim of Quantity, Maxim of Quality, Maxim of Relation and Maxim of Manner. In general, the Maxim of Quality is flouted because the talkshow hosts and the guests had limited knowledge about the issues and because they wanted to make joke. The flouting of the Maxim of Quantity and Maxim of Relation took place because the talkshow hosts and the guests wanted to provide detailed explanation about certain topics and because they wanted to make jokes.
The flouting of the Maxim of Manner happened because the talkshow hosts and guests wanted to make a joke.
ABSTRAK
Ada berbagai macam fenomena bahasa yang terjadi di dalam komunikasi manusia setiap harinya. Dalam hal ini, penulis tertarik untuk menganalisa salah satu dari fenomena bahasa, yaitu pelanggaran Maxim. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan bagaimana pelanggaran Maxim itu terjadi dan seberapa sering pelanggaran Maxim itu terjadi didalam kehidupan sehari-hari, khususnya di dalam sebuah Talkshow. Penulis memilih Ini
Talkshow untuk dianalisa, Ini Talkshow adalah sebuah komedi-talkshow. Data di peroleh
dari naskah percakapan di Ini Talkshow. Penulis menggunakan teori Grice dalam menganalisa pembelajaran ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada banyak pelanggaran Maxim yang terjadi. Pelanggaran Maxim yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran ini adalah : Pelanggaran Maxim Kuantitas, Pelanggaran Maxim Kualitas, Pelanggaran Maxim Relasi, dan Pelanggaran Maxim Sikap. Pada umumnya, pelanggaran Maxim Kualitas terjadi karena pengetahuan pembawa acara dan bintang tamu Ini Talkshow tentang isu-isu sangat terbatas dan mereka ingin membuat sebuah candaan. Pelanggaran Maxim Kuantitas yang paling banyak terjadi karena pembawa acara dan tamu Ini Talkshow ingin memberikan penjelasan tentang topik tersebut. Maxim Relasi menunjukkan bahwa ucapan-ucapan yang tidak relevan tidak menimbulkan kesulitan dalam memahami topik-topik tertentu karena penonton memahami bahwa pembawa acara dan bintang tamu hanya tertarik dengan lelucon. Pelanggaran Maxim Sikap menunjukkan ucapan-ucapan yang ambigu karena pembawa acara dan bintang tamu Ini Talkshow ingin membuat lelucon.
