ABSTRACT
This research aims to know the quality of learning media based mobile
learning platform android developed on gravity material as an individual learning
resource, to know improvement of students mastery on gravity material after
using learning media based mobile learning platform android as an individual
learning media, and then to know improvement of students learning interest on
gravity material after using learning media based mobile learning platform
android as an individual learning media.
The research methods were adopted from Borg and Gall’s (1983) research
methods. The research were limited to stage: (1) research and information
collecting, (2) planning, (3) develop preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary
fields testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, and (7) operational
product revision. In the develop preliminary form of product stage, the product

assessed by 2 expert lecturers, 2 senior high school teachers, and 5 peer reviewers.
Preliminary fields testing stage involved 9 students of SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta,
while main field testing stage involved 23 students of SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta.
The validation data of suggestion were analyzed descriptively and the data of
scores were analyzed quantitatively. The improvement of students mastery were
analyzed by using gain analysis.
Based on the research result, the quality of media was categorized good and
suitable for student. Media of learning which were developed can improvement
learning interest and students mastery on gravity material with number of gain are
0,39 and 0,32 on preliminary field testing with 0,42, and 0,33 on main field
testing, thus included in the medium category.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kelayakan produk mobile learning
platform android yang dikembangkan dengan materi gravitasi sebagai media
belajar mandiri, mengetahui apakah mobile learning platform android yang
dikembangkan sebagai media pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan penguasaan
materi gravitasi pada siswa, dan mengetahui apakah media pembelajaran mobile
learning platform android yang digunakan sebagai sumber belajar mandiri dapat
meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D) yang
diadopsi dari Borg and Gall (1983). Penelitian yang dikembangkan terbatas pada
tujuh tahap, yaitu (1) research and information collecting, (2) planning, (3)
develop preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary fields testing, (5) main
product revision, (6) main field testing, dan (7) operational product revision. Pada
tahap develop preliminary form of product, media dinilai oleh 2 dosen ahli, 2 guru
fisika SMA, dan 5 peer reviewer. Tahap preliminary fields testing melibatkan
satu kelas XI IPA 1 di SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta dengan jumlah pengguna

android sebanyak 9 siswa, sedangkan tahap main field testing melibatkan dua
kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5 di SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta dengan jumlah siswa
pengguna android sebanyak 23. Data yang berupa saran dianalisis secara
deskriptif dan data yang berupa skor rata-rata dianalisis secara kuantitatif.
Peningkatan penguasaan materi pada siswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan gain
analysis.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kualitas media pembelajaran berbasis mobile
learning platform android berkategori baik dan layak digunakan oleh pengguna.
Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan penguasaan materi
gravitasi dan minat belajar dengan nilai gain 0,39 dan 0,32 pada uji terbatas serta
0,42 dan 0,33 pada uji lapangan, keseluruhan nilai gain termasuk dalam kategori
sedang.
