ABSTRAK

Pengembangan sistem informasi geografis berbasis web untuk menampilkan
profil, potensi kota saat ini masih sangat terbatas, khususnya di wilayah
Kotamadya Pematang Siantar. Kota Pematang siantar adalah salah satu
kota di Provinsi Sumatera Utara, dan kota terbesar kedua di Provinsi tersebut
setelah Medan. Karena letak Pematang siantar yang strategis, ia dilintasi
oleh Jalan Raya Lintas Sumatera. Dengan adanya aplikasi Sistem Informasi
Geografis Profil Daerah Kota ini, akan mempermudah untuk menginformasikan
dan memonitoring semua daerah yang ada. Karena dengan peta digital dalam
bentuk database akan lebih mudah diolah dari pada peta digital yang dalam bentuk
gambar digital biasa. Dari aplikasi ini nantinya dapat mengembangkan dalam
penampilan peta Kotamadya Pematang Siantar secara detail, yang didalamnya
terdapat semua informasi tentang profil, potensi kota sehingga lebih mudah dalam
melihat perkembangan setiap kelurahan di kawasan kota.

INFORMATION SYSTEM OF KOTAMADYA PEMATANG SIANTAR
USING GOOGLE MAPS API WEB-BASED

ABSTRACT

Development of geographic information system based on web to display profile,
potency of city at this time still very limited, specially in area of Pematang Siantar
Municipality. Pematang siantar City is one of the cities in North Sumatra
Province, and the second largest city in the province after Medan. Because of the
strategic location of Pematang siantar, it is crossed by the Highway of Sumatra.
With the application of Geographic Information System Regional Profile of this
City, will make it easier to inform and monitor all the existing areas. Because with
a digital map in the form of a database will be more easily processed than the
digital map in the form of ordinary digital images. From this application will be
able to develop in the appearance of the municipal map Pematang Siantar in
detail, in which there is all information about the profile, the potential of the city
so much easier in seeing the development of every urban village.
