Populasi Serangga Penyerbuk Kelapa Sawit Elaeidobius kamerunicus Faust (Coleoptera; Curculionidae) yang Efektif dalam Menyerbuk Bunga Kelapa Sawit

Flowers.”
Developed-fruit was formed by pollination, which is the process of transferring
pollen to the stigma. One of pollination method could be composed using
pollinator beetle such as Elaeidobius kamerunicus Faust. This insect was well
known as an effective pollinator of oil palm. The objective of this research is to
find the effective amount of population to pollinate the palm oil flower. It was
arrange by Randomized Block Design with 4 treatments which is J0 (0 bug),
J1 (100 bugs), J2 (200 bugs), J3 (300 bugs) and each treatment will be replied 6
times. The result showed that introduction of 200 bugs is the most effective
population amount in terms of fruit-bunch average weight (9.858 kgs) and fruitlet
average weight (7.146 kgs). On the other hand, 100 bugs is the most effective
population amount in terms of fruit-set, which is 56.90 %. Fruit-set is the ratio
between amount of developed-fruit and the whole fruit in the bunch.

Buah jadi terbentuk oleh adanya penyerbukan. Penyerbukan merupakan proses
bertemunya kepala putik dengan benang sari. Salah satu teknik penyerbukan dapat
dilakukan dengan bantuan Elaeidobius kamerunicus Faust. Elaeidobius
kamerunicus Faust. merupakan salah satu serangga yang efektif dalam menyerbuk
kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah populasi serangga
penyerbuk kelapa sawit yang efektif dalam menyerbuk bunga kelapa sawit.
Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu
J0 (0 ekor), J1 (100 ekor), J2 (200 ekor), J3 (300 ekor). Tiap perlakuan terdiri dari
6 ulangan. Inokulasi 200 ekor adalah perlakuan paling efektif terhadap rataan
berat tandan (9.858 kg) dan berat brondolan (7.146 kg). Sedangkan inokulasi
100 ekor merupakan perlakuan yang efektif terhadap rataan nilai fruit set yaitu
56.90 %. Fruit set adalah perbandingan antara buah jadi dengan buah seluruh
tandan.
