ABSTRAK
Radithya Putra Perdana, 210111100005, 2014. Judul penelitian ini adalah
Konstruksi Makna Gerakan Olahraga Muay Thai Pada Komunitas Versus Muay
Thai Bandung. Studi Fenomenologi mengenai pemaknaan gerakan olahraga Muay
Thai pada Komunitas Versus Muay Thai di Kota Bandung. Pembimbing dalam
penelitian ini adalah Dr. Feliza Zubair, M.Si selaku pembimbing utama dan Drs.
H. Wawan Setiawan, M.I.kom selaku pembimbing pendamping. Jurusan
Kehumasan, Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjajaran.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati dan mengetahui bagaimana
pemahaman anggota komunitas Versus Muay Thai terhadap olahraga tersebut
serta bagaimana pemaknaan dari gerakan Muay Thai tersebut terhadap individu
yang tergabung dalam komunitas tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode
kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi fenomenologi. Objek penelitian adalah
komunitas Versus (dibawah organisasi Sabai Muay Thai). Subjek penelitian ini
adalah para anggota komunitas Versus.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pemahaman anggota terhadap
olahraga Muay Thai ternyata dapat dikata bahwa hampir seluruhnya telah
memahami dengan baik tentang olahraga tersebut. Dalam penelitian lebih lanjut
dapat diketahui bahwa motif para anggota untuk mengikuti olahraga Muay Thai
sangatlah beragam hal tersebut berdampak terhadap pemaknaan gerakan Muay
Thai yang berbeda – beda pula.

Descriptive case fenomenologi regarding the meaning from construction Muay
Thai movement at Versus Muay Thai Community. Mentors in the study were Dr.
Feliza Zubair, M.Si as the principal adviser and Drs. H. Wawan Setiawan,
M.I.kom as the assistant coach. Department of Public Relations, Faculty of
Communication, University of Padjadjaran.
This research aims to observe and learn more about how community
members comprehension about that sports as well as the construction of meaning
of Muay Thai Movement from the member Versus Community. Object of this
research is Versus Community (below Sabai Muay Thai Organizatiton). Subject of
this research is the member of Versus Community.
The results of this research show that the understanding of members of the
sport of Muay Thai can be turned out that almost all have understood well about
the sport. In further research may note that the motives of the members to follow
the sport of Muay Thai is very diverse that have an impact on the definition of the
different Muay Thai movements.
