me in completing the thesis as one of the reguipments to get a degree of Sarjana, at English
Departement, Faculty of cultural studies, University of Sumatera Utara Medan.
Furthermore, I would also like to thank to the dean of faculty of cultural studies and
also as my supervisor Drs. H. Syahron Lubis, M.A, who has give me advice, critics, and
precious time in reading and correcting for its completeness, and to chairman of English
Departmen who is also as my co-supervisor Drs. H. Muhizar Muchtar, M.S, for his time to
read and give suggestion for this thesis. I also thank to the secretary of English Departement,
Dr. Hj. Nurlela, M.Hum and the entire lectures who have taught and guided me during my
period of study in faculty.
Then, my special thak to all my lectures in English study programs at faculty of

ABSTRAK

Skripsi yang berjudul “An Error Analysis in Mental Verb Made By The 2012 Students
English Department North sumatera university”, adalah sebuah analisis mengenai Mental
Verb dapat digambarkan sebagai kata kerja yang berhubungan dengan tindakan yang
melibatkan pemikiran yaitu tindakan dalam pikiran dan tidak dapat dilihat. Ini biasanya
mengacu pada verba yang menggambarkan perasaan dan bukan tindakan. Beberapa contoh
termasuk perawatan, melihat dan berpikir. Di dalam skripsi ini, terdapat tiga hal yang akan
dianalisis, dan juga merupakan tujuan analisis dari skripsi ini, yang pertama adalah
menganalisis jenis kesalahan yang dibuat oleh 2012 mahasiswa dari Jurusan Bahasa Inggris
Universitas Sumatera Utara saat menggunakan kata kerja mental. yang kedua menganalisis
kesalahan yang paling dominan yang dibuat oleh 2012 mahasiswa dari Jurusan Bahasa
Inggris Universitas Sumatera Utara saat menggunakan kata kerja mental yang ketiga
penyebab dari kesalahan menganalisis yang dibuat oleh 2012 mahasiswa dari Jurusan Bahasa
Inggris Universitas Sumatera Utara saat menggunakan kata kerja mental. Dalam hal ini
semua 2012 mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Sumatera Utara. Mereka
diperlakukan sebagai informan dari data yang dibutuhkan . Ketika peneliti menemukan
bahwa populasi terlalu besar atau besar , ia mungkin mengambil beberapa penduduk sebagai
wakil dari populasi , biasanya disebut sampel dari populasi. -Sampel ini diharapkan dapat
mewakili seluruh populasi penelitian .

Di dalam skripsi ini, penulis mengambil sampel sekitar 35 siswa . Data Prosedur
Pengumpulan Ada banyak tujuan melakukan tes. Tujuan penerapan tes semacam ini bukan
untuk kualifikasi atau sertifikat , tetapi digunakan untuk mendapatkan persentase prestasi dan
kesalahan mereka. Memiliki ide memberikan tes, penulis telah menyiapkan serangkaian tes
yang terdiri dari 50 pertanyaan. 50 pertanyaan dikelompokkan menjadi tiga bagian ( A , B ,
dan C ) . Bagian A terdiri dari 15 pertanyaan. Ini adalah uji identifikasi . Bagian B terdiri dari
15 pertanyaan . Ini adalah tes sistem benar atau salah . Dan yang terakhir , bagian C terdiri
dari 20 pertanyaan di mana siswa diminta untuk memilih bentuk yang benar dari kata kerja. .
