MASCULINIZATION OF GUPPY (Poecillia reticulata) WITH
DIFFERENT DOSE OF PROPOLIS

Monosex populations can produce of male guppy populations and can increase
the economic value of this fish as one of Indonesian export commodities. The
aim of this research is determining the effective dose in produce of male
guppy using propolis. The research was conducted completely randomized
design (RAL) with five treatments and four replications. The treatments are
dose of propolis 50, 100, 150 µl/l (respectively), positive control without
treatments, and
-methyltestosterone 2 mg/l (negative control). The
treatments were given immersion on the female guppy pregnant for 24 hours.
The results showed that the treatments were the same function as important as
-methyltestosterone in produce male of guppy populations (P0,05) by Duncan
test. The conclusions are the effective dose to produce male of guppy
populations is 100 µl/l propolis equal to 64,88% , survival rate equal to
78,88%, and the propolis could be replaced
