ii Goodwill resulted from the acquisition of Sigma in 2008 Note 4a, Indonusa in 2008 and the acquisition of Ad Medika in 2010 Note 4b. Starting January 1, 2009, the Company has changed
the estimated useful lives of goodwill from 5 years to 20 years Note 2d. The Company charged the impact of the changes in the estimated useful lives to 2009 consolidated statement of income.
Other intangible assets resulted from the acquisitions of Dayamitra, Pramindo, TII, KSO IV and KSO VII, and represented the rights to operate the business in the KSO areas.
iii The up-front fee paid by Telkomsel in February 2006 for the 3G license amounting to Rp.436,000 million was recognized as an intangible asset and is amortized over the term of the
3G license. In 2009, Telkomsel obtained an additional 3G license of Rp.320,000 million which is recorded as an intangible assets and amortized over 10 years Notes 1d.a, 2j and 45a.ii.
iv In 2009, the Company was granted a switched based local network provider license using 2.3 GHz radio frequency bandwidth for wireless broadband services. The up-front fee is recorded
as an intangible assets and amortized over the license’s useful life of 10 years.

v Starting January 1, 2009, the Company has changed the estimated useful lives of software from 5-10 years to 3-5 years. The Company charged the impact of the changes in the estimated useful
lives to 2009 consolidated statement of income. Telkomsel’s software is amortized over 3 and 5 years.
vi The estimated annual amortization expense relating to other intangible assets for each year
beginning from July 1, 2010 is approximately Rp.874,397 million per year. 15. ESCROW ACCOUNTS
